That's funny.

I was thinking of leaving too, but tomorrow's my two year anniversary here, so I have to stay at least one more day.

ROTF LMAO! That was funny as hell what u said on the other forum about that person leaving. I was thinking the same thing as I was reading it. WHY post that you're leaving unless u just want attention? Oh, well . . . I guess I'm leaving too. Now, quick, post some replies to keep me here. MAYBE I'll stay . . .

I hate those type of threads. If you are going to leave, just email or pm the people you want to know and just fade out. It's almost as bad as members starting their own birthday threads.

Suppose Jimmy Malone (Mike) is still reading here and this thread offends/upsets him?

I know you're only making a joke, Solomon, and I'm certain there's no malice in it, but you stated that you were poking fun at the other thread. I know it's light-hearted, but Mike seems rather upset about the incidents he referred to, and this thread might offend/upset him further.

I'm not criticising you for starting this thread, I'm really not. I think you only did so in a light-hearted manner, but I'm just worried that if Mike reads it, it may upset him to think that people are making fun of his thread.

Anybody's who been on this site for a while should know by now that Solomon jokes around and doesn't take things too seriously. It might be a better place if more people were like him and weren't so sensitive that they felt they have to outright "leave" the site when something bothers them. I'm speaking in general terms because I don't know Jimmy Malone's situation. When you give more weight to the negatives you have with (people on) this site than the positives, no one else should be blamed for that but yourself. I appreciate all the positive friendships I've made and conversations I've had on this site too much to let people I may have beef with stop me from coming. Like robyrob said in the other thread: something can only hurt you if you LET it hurt you.

just to clarify, i'm not helping with making fun of the other thread or anything, i don't know what kind of reasons are making him want to leave.

I agree with what you say, vashti. I know Solomon was just kidding around, but I was concerned that Jimmy Malone might not see it that way. (After all, it is hard to interpret the tone of one's message.)

I know you're not making fun of anyone, safety pin. I don't think Solomon is really, but I thought some people might think that he was.

I think it's best that way...i have received many PM's from people who are leaving, people who want to vent, people who want to ADVISE me abt certain situations and how they could identify with it, etc. BUT, it also serves a purpose, hopefully, people will think twice before they SHOOT OFF THEIR MOUTHS (words). Some people can be real mean. Soloman is a joker, however, someone may not find that out until it's too late. Other posters are sarcastic, but mean no harm. One needs to stick around for awhile to get to know one another here. But if one has been here for 3 years, they had to have a darn good reason to finally leave. Maybe someone PM'd him and said nasty things...we don't know, only he knows and he has a right to his opinion.

It is kind of ironic that he hates these kind of threads, yet starts one of his own. Even if it is made as a joke.
