I remember watching the Gordon Page story on um and feeling so sad and sympathetic to all parties concerned. One for Gordon, cause no one understood what was wrong with him and therefore he suffered. Also his parents, cause they will forever have to live with the guilt of making the decision they did whether it was right or wrong, cause of how it turned out. I don't think it has been solved unless someone has heard otherwise. For Gordon to be missing that long without someone having found him is an ominous sign that foul play may be involved.

I think that this is such a sad case! I really want to know if there are any updates. Does anyone know if there are?

That group home probably has bars on their windows now, so that no one else escapes and is never seen again.

I find it hard to believe that he could have survived all of these years on his own, without anyone finding out who he was. I mean, he's mentally handicapped, right? (From what I remember of the segment)...how could he live a normal life, get a job, etc?
He might be institutionalized somewhere, which would be my best guess as to where he would be if he was still alive, but I'm guessing he wandered off and died of exposure or something. There are millions of unidentified remains found each year. One of them could be him. |

It says he suffers from autism that doesn't exactly mean he is mentally handicapped. It also says that he could possibly be working as a farmhand or working with migrant workers, which indicates to me that he is quite capable. They didn't say what the years were that he was sited it just said that there had been sightings of him since he dissapeared in 1991. And even tho he hasn't surfaced in over 14 years doesn't mean he isn't alive. I mean there was people who were missing from the 1960's that had just resurfaced. But who knows. Only time will tell I guess.

I don't think too many Unsolved Mysteries stories have gotten to me the way this one did. I cry like a baby every time I see the reruns. It's obvious his parents love him so much, and the pain they feel must be unbearable.
I asked my husband what we would do if that happened to our son, and he said, "we'd do the same thing his parents are doing -- never stop looking for him!" God bless this family! |
