Question WHAT HAS THREE'S COMPANY DONE FOR YOU?

What difference has it made in your life? In mine for the half hour it makes me forget about being so selfish, and to just laugh. I love that it is so exagerated, I think all out lives can be that way sometimes if we try. We can all be happy, it's up to us. Three's Company simply makes people happy, I don't care if it is not the best written show on earth(which I think it is well written and very nicley acted) Thank You

Joyce certainly is an inspiring role model She's so sweet, grounded, and down-to-earth-- she has never let her celebrity status or being on a t.v. show get to her ego. In fact, she has chosen to live a life of privacy, even in her TC days. I am glad she's sticking to what she loves to do, which is perform. It has never been about money or fame-- she just loves acting! So, yes, Joyce is definately a big reason why I watch TC. I love to see her and John and the other cast members act silly and do a damned good job of making us laugh. Mostly, the show is comfort and escapism to me. At the end of a long day, I can look forward to laying in bed and watching the show right before I go to sleep.

John, of course, is the main reason I watch, though I just can't deny it. He's like Joyce in the fact that he acted because he liked to make people laugh and he loved acting-- it was just something he was born to do and he did it so well! What a talented ( and sexy ! ) man!

Anyway, long live TC!

Oh I totally agree...Joyce is very down to earth and is the sweetest person I could have ever met! And I'm probably the only one to think of her like this but I do consider her the female version of John Ritter...I mean she didn't do AS MUCH physical comedy, but she certainly did a good share of it...and you are right...she loves acting...I definitely saw it in the play...it shows...and honestly tc did nothing for her! I mean you can't even imagine how good of an actress she REALLY is until you see her live...I mean she can't make mistakes on stage....she has to be on time...say the right lines...learn all the lyrics, what song comes on when, and the dance moves to it...there is so much that goes into plays that you like cant even realize until your fav. actor or actress is involved! I honestly have so much more respect for theater now after seeing that!

Well, besides brightening up my not-so-merry moments, 3's Co. got me a bonus question on a quiz in English. We studied this author and one of his books, and on the quiz, one of the bonus questions was asking what kind of prize did the author get. I couldn't remember any other prize besides the Pulitzer prize, but then I started quoting Jack (good thing I knew the lines) from the episode Bird Song where he's trying to get Chrissy to give him the other ticket for the concert. He says something like "...they'll cut off any relationships, no more NOBEL prizes..." and then bam I got the answer. I always said too much Three's Co never hurts because you never know when it might come in handy.

It's one of the greatest TV comedies of all time that has not gotten the credit it deserves. It has helped me appreciate slapstick, as well as the comedy greats that inspired John Ritter (including Jerry Lewis), a type of humor I never enjoyed as a kid.

It's a great show that follows the model of comedies like "The Honeymooners." Both shows used the same guest actors in completely different roles, such as the tall bald guy with glasses who always appeared on 3sCo in different roles.

Critics always praise the Honeymooners but have usually ignored this show.

I think it's because it's different from the sitcom mold that was started with the Dick Van Dyke Show in the early 60's, which focused less on slapstick and more on characters. Shows like All in the Family, Sanford and Son, Mary Tyler Moore, Cheers, MASH, Bob Newhart (70's show), Wings, Maude, Jeffersons, etc, all followed the DVDS mold. Characters were often centered around people in their workplace.

But slapstick doesn't get credit. Except in France, where they appreciate Jerry Lewis a lot more.

Talking Great Topic!!

I agree with all of you. I mean Three's Company is just one of those shows that is actually fun to watch... I look foward to it and cannot wait to get the est of the seasons on dvd. It isn't even Just the show.... but the actors in it.

John Ritter: Such an inspiration to me and every person i know.... need i say more?

Joyce DeWitt: Amazing in every way

Suzanne Somers: Funny and witty

Priscilla Barnes: Another amazing woman .... there are just to many great TC actors/guest stars to name off.

Three's Company has given me a source of laughter and joy that is very special to me. I really just do not know what I would do without watching it almosy everyday. I think everyone here on the boards feels that way too. Why else are we here except to honor a show that basically framed American culture and farce?

THREE'S COMPANY FANS STAND UNITED.... LONG LIVE T.C !!!!!!
