Question high school classes & cars... please read =)

Greetings fellow Sitcom Onliners. I'm taking sociology this year, and every quarter, we have to do a hypothesis-research paper.

I must interview 40 friends, so naturally I came here . I was wondering if you could answer a few simple questions for me. By rules of my teacher, the people I interview have to remain anonymous, so feel free to say whatever you want.

1] Do you/did you have a car anytime during highschool?
1 a] if 'no', did a close friend or boy/girlfriend have one?

2] Many students feel tempted to skip classes, because they can just leave in cars. Did you feel more tempted to skip classes because of the availability of a your/a car?

I award every participant a cookie and much thanks

1. Yes

2. No - I think I actually skipped once while having a car, and once when I didn't. But it had nothing to do with it.

I'll take a which chip macadamia nut cookie.

Nope.

Yup, a few of 'em did.

I never skipped classes, so I can't answer that...Heh.

I'll have a chocolate chip cookie, please.

1. No, I don't have a car. And I won't.
1a. Kelly and Genna do, so yes.
2. I don't have a car. But if I had a car, I'd be sooo tempted to skip Gym... cos it's last period.

Problematic assumption in the question there....

If anything, I think I was more likely to duck out due to not having one....if I wanted to leave, I just found the nearest willing person, and left - as it wasn't my wheels on the line if something bad happend. Of course, I only ducked out a couple of times...I much preferred to come in late as opposed to duck out early.

1] Do you/did you have a car anytime during highschool?
yes - it was a crapmobile

2] Many students feel tempted to skip classes, because they can just leave in cars. Did you feel more tempted to skip classes because of the availability of a your/a car? if the pivotal word here is MORE, then I would have to say no - I skipped out as much or more often before I got a car; it was actually a LOT harder to try and sneak your car out of the school parking lot

Yes and I acted on those temptations. My friends and I would skip 1st period at least once a week.

1) Do you/did you have a car anytime during high school?
No, I got my driver's license on July 31, 1979 and I graduated in June of that year. I sure wanted a car though and some of my friends had cars. One had a '67 Mustang with a built 351 Cleveland engine and used to street race it at about 2:00 in the morning.

2) Did you feel tempted to skip classes because of the availability of a/your car?
No, I pretty much followed the rules. Besides, if I skipped class, I knew I would have to bring a note from home explaining why I missed the class. Once, though, one of my friends took me for a ride during lunch and drove to the mall- he intended on skipping class but didn't tell me until we got to the mall. What could I do? It was too far to walk back to school.

1. Did I have a car?? No

2. Did my friends have cars?? No, my friends were losers like me. Just kidding, one or two of them did.

3. Was I more tempted to skip school with the availability of a car?? I skipped school all the time, regardless of whether there was a car or not, so I'd have to say no on this one. I was a bad kid, so it made no difference.

I wasn't even going to answer because my answers are boring, but here it goes.....

1] Do you/did you have a car anytime during highschool?
No. I never even drove to school, either.

1a] if 'no', did a close friend or boy/girlfriend have one?
I recall one close friend having her own car. I didn't have too many friends, so I kinda considered her a "best friend" without understanding the meaning.

2] Many students feel tempted to skip classes, because they can just leave in cars. Did you feel more tempted to skip classes because of the availability of a your/a car?
Never applied to me. I have never ditched school or even drove, for that matter.

Can I have a fudge cookie, please?

1- Yes.

2- Yes, it's tempting. But its really hard to just walk out of my school and leave without someone asking where you're going.
