Smile Last Episode/Last Season

What did you all think about the last season of Roseanne? Or the last episode? It wasnt really well taken, and I didnt enjoy the 9th season as much, but I mean it was fun and everything. Obviously Roseanne was running out of ideas for the show. Im interested to read what you all thought of it.

I thought it was the most inventive series finally ever (but not the best). I mean, c'mon... she took an entire SEASON of her show to build up a great storyline to wrap up her entire show... that takes a lot of testicular fortitude!

Personally, I think the whole show started falling apart right around the time that they opened the Harley shop. It just seemed to be missing... something.

The last season and the Harley shop were totally "anti" what the show was about...struggling white-trash who, despite their hard work, could never get a break or get ahead.

The last season, I think, really took away from the "meat" of the show. I felt like the last season was some sort of spin-off from the real show.

I think Roseane wanted to have some fun the last season. However the ratings dropped drastically. She was no longer in the top 10. The episode when the family is held hostage came in 58th. The fisrt few episodes were OK when they won the lottery but went downhill from there.

On the last episode Roseanne says that Dan died a year ago and that the last season was written for her book. So in actuality she kept him alive through her writing.

As a season finlae, I am sorry to say, it SUCKED! The one saving grace was that she went back to the beginning when she anted to be a writer and everyine built her the office in the basement.
As for Dan dying, she says that it wasn't the way things happened, but it was the way she wanted to remember things. Does she say Dan died a year ago? I thought she said he dies from the heart attack...

They really ruined the show after John Goodman left the show. That lottery thing come on, it was just stupid! And I hated the final episode, I think that Roseanne ruined her show. I liked the early seasons better, they were believable and true to life.

I think that was when he had the heart attack at Darlene and David's wedding reception. That was the impression that I got. The series finale was okay, but it could have been better. I was happy for them when they won the lottery though. I felt like they deserved something really good to happen to them after such much had happened.

I felt like now they can really enjoy themselves. I miss watching the show every week.

I loved it when they all went to New York City with Carlos in his private jet.

Thumbs up

I really liked the final episode of Roseanne. It was a clever way to end the show the way she did. Saying that the whole season was made up and a part of her book. But it was incredibly sad that Dan really did die at Darlene's reception. I still remember seeing this show when it aired and right when they turned the camera to the empty seat where Dan was sitting before I knew he died from the heart attack at the wedding before she even said anything. It was so sad. I got tears in my eyes. You have to admit though, it was pretty clever,
