What holiday is on Monday? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

My sisters who go to elementary and high school, are off on Monday. Why? They already get two days off this week, and on Monday, they get a third day off, which is really ridiculous since the Hurricanes actually already gave them four days off.

. Shouldn't they actually GET LESS days off?

sevn days off. That's a whole week!

ITS COLUMBUS DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.. Don't u have a school calendar that they give you on..days off? ..lol they should have gave you one. They should also get Vetern's Day off too... all the good stuff...

But when I was in high school they made us go to school on CD. And I was in high school about three years ago. My sister's schools never celebrated CD either, and they are 11 and 15. Instad of complaining on here.... Why don't you call the school and complain to them instead? nothing we can do about it.... Not to be rude! But thats the best way to do it.. is to ask them these questions.! its the year 2005 now its a differnt ball game..

School calendars change constantly Janice. The 'fall break' used to be from Monday to Monday, now it is from Thursday to Monday. We don't have any more days off during this month so your sis is lucky to have a day off.

We have NEVER had off on Columbus Day. I don't understand why that is. Our other government and federal places are all going to be closed on Monday. I mean, it's quite an important day in American history. Hmmm...

When I was younger, I would go around to everyone saying I'm special cause we get the day off on my birthday

My birthday is Oct 12, so sometimes it lands on Columbus Day. Ahh, those were the days!

Monday is the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Actually if you don't have Columbus Day off, that's one less day at the end of the year you go. You have 175 school days PERIOD. Regardless of the number of off days. So... technically, if you want a longer summer, you don't want a lot of holidays(outside of Thanksgiving, Christmas etc.) during the year.

Oh and here Columbus Day is a Parent Day...

...and they'll be going to school in June.

Everyday they get off is another day at the end of the year they have to go.
