The Mary Tyler Moore Show: The Complete Third Season will be released on DVD on January 10, 2006.

Oh well, I'm thrilled regardless. I guess sales on Season 3 were so good that FOX has come to its senses. I'm so glad Season 3 is coming out, and so soon too! It's due out the day after my 33rd birthday. What more can a fan ask for????

In case you can't tell, I'm partially excited about this news item.

Fox are gods on earth! Ironic how a year ago I might've here or there slipped out a few naughty too hot for SO words about them. lol.

I too am surprised by how fast we're getting Season 3. My guess would be that FOX was actually super-impressed with how Season 2 sold that they wanted to expedite the work on Season 3 as fast as possible. I'm so glad. I hated hearing various reports about how low Season 1's sales were, like the show was a dud or something. Season 1 was just out of price for the majority of the public, that's all.

Perhaps with the release of Season 3 and beyond we'll eventually see the release of the spin-offs Rhoda and Phyllis. I know it's way too early to tell, since we're not even guaranteed all 7 seasons of The Mary Tyler Moore Show but I think if sales hold up, we'll see the spin-offs too. The bottom line is $$ and if FOX makes a ton of it with The Mary Tyler Moore Show, they'll want to milk that for all its worth with Rhoda and Phyllis as well.

It's about time FOX's bottom line ($$$) worked in our favor, no?

This is no big deal actually. It's only a week later. Besides, being so soon after Christmas, I could use the extra week to recover my finances. At least it wasn't put on indefinite delay like some series.
