Default Anyone Remember The Harlem Globetrotters Cartoons?

Anyone remember The Harlem Globetrotters cartoons that aired on CBS from 1970-73 and in reruns on NBC? This was one of my all-time favorite Saturday morning cartoons, emphasing comedy over violence. This was also the first cartoon to use predominately African-American voice actors. Scatman Crothers, Stu Gilliam and Eddie (Rochester) Anderson were among the voices.

What I remember about the show wre the game sequences, set to songs titled Meadowlark and Cheer me Up. Those songs were produced by Don Kirschner as part of a Globetrotters record album. Let's not forget the non-playing cast members-Granny the bus driver and Dribbles the dog.

I saw an episode on Boomerang on Cartoon Network a few years back. I found it actualy good for a Saturday Morning cartoon. With HB having many DVD's coming out who knows if Harlem Globetrotters will come out. I would love to see more of it.

Boy, I sure do! I have 2 VHS volumes of the show taped from TV Land's Super RetroVision Saturdaze back in 1999.

G.F., I think you mean The 'Trotters' guest shot on a New Scooby-Doo Movie.

Yes, I saw a few episodes. They also appeared in three NEW SCOOBY-DOO
MOVIES (now available on DVD).
