Not true! It's the little local stations that simply don't have the budget to cut shows up so if only a network version for a series is available for syndication, then the network version gets shown. That's why shows recorded off TVLand in its infancy are uncut, but now that it's a popular nationwide station owned by a company with tons of dough they are merciless with the axe.

This thread is very similar to a post I made on the old, archived, board before it got shut down. It didn't get much attention then, possibly due to all the bickering that was going on at the time, so maybe this is a good time and place to repost. Note that the show line-ups may now be out of date with the new fall scheduling.

Not including nationwide cable companies like TVLand, GoodLife etc., only small, local, independent stations that air a lot of old shows. I only know of a few, but I assume there must be others across the States. I’d be most interested in discovering others so if anybody can add to the list, please do. Here’s the 5 that I know of and what they currently air.

Most importantly, can anyone here record off any of these stations?

KDOC – Los Angeles
Cagney and Lacey, Mission Impossible, McCloud, Banacek, Columbo, Rockford Files, Kojak, Ellery Queen, Perry Mason

WBGN – Pittsburgh
Streets of San Francisco, Hawaii Five-0, Mork and Mindy, Laverne and Shirley, Carson’s Comedy Classics.

WBXH – Baton Rouge
Diff’rent Strokes, Kojak, Simon and Simon, Hawaii Five-0, I Spy and Emergency!

WFMZ – Allentown
The Fugitive, Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, Mork and Mindy, Brady Bunch

WWME – Chicago
Love American Style, Baretta, Wild Wild West, Starsky and Hutch, Quincy M.E., Monkees, Partridge Family, Hogan’s Heroes, Taxi, The Lucy Show, What’s Happening!, Lassie, Addams Family, Lone Ranger, Green Acres, Petticoat Junction, Mork and Mindy, Odd Couple, Get Smart, Batman, Bewitched, Barney Miller etc.
