The Theme Song from 1976-79 was much much better - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I don't know what happen in the 1980-85 era. Especially the theme song for the 84-85 season, it was horrible. I'm watching I'm listening to the opening theme from the 78-79 season and it was very nice.

I agree. From 1981-1985 the theme was not very good. They used the same theme for all four years. Basically for those seasons (the Jolene years), it was the most upbeat but by far my least favorite.

Yep the original theme song was and is the best!

I used to like the final theme, but then after watching the reruns on ION, I realized how tiresome it became!

I do like the first season theme and in second for me would be the theme from 1981-1985. Sorry folks, but that is one of my faves. Love it. Love it.
