I heard two different stories on my Becky/Lecy left. Cant tell you if either is true. One was that she wanted to go to college (and did for a year -- but when Sarah Gilbert left for school they built her a seperate set)

Then there is a rumor that she was let go because Tom Arnold liked her. But thats a story I heard from a girl I knew who auditioned to be the faux Becky. Ive seen Roseann gush how sweet faux Becky is, and she was the one on Roseann's talk show for the cast reunion.

I heard that also, that Lecy wanted to go to college, but then I heard the tabloid rumor that Lecy was encouraged to leave because Tom Arnold had the hots for her. Who knows?

It was too funny when Lecy came back again, and Roseanne told Becky, 'wow, I feel like I haven't seen you in three years' or something like that.

My question is: Why did Lecy come back and then leave AGAIN, to be replaced by Sarah Chalke for the second time?

I don't know why. The first Becky is my choice. This is the line from the 1995 season premiere episode:

Becky walks in the room.
Becky #1: Sorry. This is all I could find.
(Audience applauds)

Roseanne: Where the He** have you been?

Becky#1: Don't yell at me. I was getting this. (blanket)

Roseanne: Well, it seems like you've been gone for 3 years.

Default Maybe Both

Maybe both of those reasons are true. She did leave twice.

I love the line from Disney:

roseanne: "Aren't you glad you're here this week?" (to Sarah Chalke)

The only good thing about the episode.

I believe it was because when Lecy Goranson signed on for the 1995-96 season, everybody thought that would be the final season. When the show was renewed for a ninth season, she had other plans and couldn't play the part of Becky.

I think something else might've happened on the set because when Lecy left Tom shortly left after too, so if he was bugging her that much and Rosie was planning on firing him why didn't she just wait and stay on the show till he left.

Actually Roseanne didn't fire Tom Arnold until the end of the 6th season after she caught him cheating with his personal assistant.
