Default Why do you think Thelma and Keith had that big fight before the wedding?

I think Thelma was insecure about why Keith wanted to marry her when he could have had any woman, and she was afraid that she would lose him if she didn't live up to his standards. So I think she tried to dump him so she wouldn't get dumped, even though she loved him, she didn't know how to handle that feeling.

P.S. Thanks for this idea for a thread, Irene.

I think it was stress, planning a wedding is stressful enough, But when your trying to plan it within a week or so it's really hard. I know when I was planning mine I was getting into arguments over stupid things. Someone could have put something down in the wrong place and I would make a big deal out of it LOL. Stress can make you do and say funny thing.

Planning a wedding can be extremely stressful.

And if Flo wasn;t around to patch things up, Keith would have been playing for the Chiacgo Bears and dealing with a new woman-lol

LMAO- you really know how to dampen the spirits don't you!!! LOL

No prob. Craftman. Sometimes, being irritable, on edge, can set someone up, especially a woman to "start" a fight, regardless whether it's planning a wedding or some other important thing. She was having jitters big time. but to be technical, the writers did this to fill up time.

SOLOMON, Keith would have most likely tripped over someone else too.

Anyway, all's well and ended well. Everyone got out of the ghetto.

You really think that fight was "filler"? I don't think so, but it did seem to come out of nowhere, cause Keith and Thelma just got off the elevator and Thelma seemed like she was already mad with no explanation until she mentioned, during the fight, that some girl was all up in Keith's grill and he was nice to her, or something like that. So I think the writers wanted to have them have a big fight but came up with a lame reason for it.

I thought about that too, Retro. I think they wanted to come up with some kinda problem that only Flo, a mother, could resolve through her experience and knowledge, to show that they needed some motherly advice. I also thought that if it wasn't for Flo, Keith would've been long gone. Shoot, now I blame Flo for Keith staying for the whole season.

Because the writers put it in the scripts...

Well I don;t think that was a good post for the person who asked the question. As much as you like to analyze things, i was surprised to see that statement from you

Which is why I said it. I figure I might as well join the herd and ruin other people's threads. Only kidding... It was a joke and I at least didn't go on and on about it like some people I might name. Know anyone in particular Solomon?
