Why is it a bad thing to be Shallow? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

What's wrong with a man/woman wanting to be sexually/physically attracted to a person before they decide if they want to be in a relationship? Why is it a big deal to focus on the personality AFTER you get pass the face? I'm constantly criticized for only wanting PRETTY WOMAN. Does that make me a bad guy?

I think personality is more important than physical appearence. A woman can look good, but have a bad personality. I think you should actually be in a relationship before you go to bed with a person, because if you do it before then you probably won't have a relationship at all.

But you can see what type of person they are AFTER you get pass the looks. Now what person sees someone in public and thinks personality first?

You know what's ironic? Most of the people that I know that only went for the pretty girl, endeed up with an average girl at best, and found themselves happy! Go figure.

Looks are important, but I think finding a girl with an attractive personality is much more important. I would rather be with a woman who is pretty with a wonderful personality then be with one that is drop dead georgeous, but with a lousy personality.

i know what you mean. looks aren't more important but sexual/physical attraction generally OCCURS first. it doesn't matter how "shallow" some people say it is, it's simply the way the human mind works.
