Post Do you think RHODA should have ended when MTM did?

After all,Phyllis, the other spinoff, ended when MTM did.Rhoda continued though-for a year and a half after that before finaly calling it quits.By that time, however, the show had gotten into a rut-and even things I'd loved about the show at first started to become routine.Perhaps Rhoda should've retired with Mary and Phyllis.

I agree about the part when you say that she should've left with Mary and Phyllis. The show lost it's flavor in the third season which coincidentally was also the same time that Mary and Phyllis' shows went off the air. Maybe the show lost it's chemistry when Joe left. I really can't determine that. all I know is that I lost entrance during the last 2 seasons although I liked the opening themes.

I AGREE THAT THE SHOW LOST ITS CHARM WHEN JOE LEFT! I HAD ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FUNNY IF SHE AND JOE WOULD HAVE HAD A BABY.RHODA BEING PREGNANT WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY FUNNY!

I actually thought that the show got better when Joe left. I really didn't like him. I think that Rhoda should have ended when MTM did. It would have had a good 3-year run.

You must be thinking of when she left her 80's sitcom "Valerie" (aka "The Hogan Family"). That's another story entirely.

It wasn't a spin off...Rhoda simply moves on without Joe, and becomes a single woman again. I think the show jumped the shark when she (finally) got thin and got married. I liked her better "fat" (which she never was but it was funny seeing her deal with eating and man issues) and single.

YES...it would've been great to see Mary, Rhoda and Phyllis ride off in the sunset together. I agree with a previous poster that it would have been great to see Rhoda pregnant...those could have been very funny episodes!!

I liked Rhodas show without Joe, when it was just her & Brenda. I didn't watch many episodes of The Phyllis Show, didn't really like it. But yeah ending
it about the same time as Mary's show would have been about right.

keep in mind that rhoda was only on for 3 years at the time MTM ended, so it was no way it could have ended unless it was cancelled-lol
