Default Your Fave Animals - For whatever reason...pic thread

I have a fascination with Sloths. They are slow moving animals, with these giant claws, weird looking faces, they look so cute yet so weird, I can't explain what it is abt them that makes me fascinated with them, I love watching documentaries abt them...here are my pics

The world's largest cat - Siberian Tiger
At the start of the 20th Century there were 8 subspecies of tiger. Sadly since then we have lost over 90% of our tigers and today only five subspecies remain; Bengal, Siberian, Indochinese, Sumatran and South China. All but the Bengal are critically endangered, while the South China Tiger was recently declared extinct in the wild. The main threats are loss of habitat, population defragmentation and poaching for their bones, whiskers and other body parts which are sold on the black market for a lot of money. Believe it or not these parts are used in traditional Chinese medicine because some believe they have special powers. For example: whiskers are used for toothaches; eyes for epilepsy.

Wow, those pictures are just beautiful. Tigers are such gorgeous animals. I love the last one! Looks a lot like how my kitty looks when she's jumping up to catch a toy. You can tell they're related and in the feline family. It's amazing sometimes how when you watch non domestic cats and the things they do in the wild and it's the exact same things and movements that domestic cats do!

Pitooey your giraffe pics are gorgeous...they are very serine...i saw these giraffes at the LA Zoo and there is a part of the area where you are at their eye level and they come real close to you, of course not close enough to touch, but to give you a good idea how high their necks are...look the pic below. there is also a special giraffe at the Santa Barbara Zoo whose neck is crooked. I found this pic on the net, it's not the best I know I have seen other pics, just can't find them. I have seen this animal at the zoo and it is quite a site.
