Default New Viewers to this show must be totally confused!!!

TVland skipped The Big Move where James was written off the show, they skipped the episodes where Penny was introduced and they skipped Florida's Homecoming when Florida returned. New viewers who are just tuning into this show on TVland must be scratching their heads in confusion to what is going on with this show.

Yup that's how it is in syndication. You notice the disappearance of certain characters and never know the reason why. From the age of 13 to 23, I never knew why the james character was killed off.

I am so glad I was a first time viewer back when the showed originally aired. It is sad and confusing for that to happen. Does anyone even know why the big move wasn't even shown? and the others too?

On my Satellite guide it said that one episode was going to be, Florida's Homecoming but it wasn't it was a episode from like season 2. But that's TvLand for you, they skip a lot of stuff and cut out clips.

wanna know what my guide tells me for episode info regarding GT????

it says: The Maude Spin-off about a black family struggling in the ghetto. It says that s**t for every episode. So I don't know what the episode will be until I watch it, or I read the posts on here and see what u guys are talking abt.

You got that right, Retro. I taped all the episodes from TBS when it came on at 5:00 in the morning here, and I hadn't seen the show since about the mid 80's in reruns. So I didn't realized they cut out so much out until the Cousin Cleatus episode. My TBS version starts with Flo opening the door and the FBI is there, and JJ says, "I didn't know it was a federal offense to blow a fuse". After that line I remembered, OH yeah, they had got the new stereo and it kept blowing a fuse. I couldn't believe they cut out all the dancing and fuse blowing in the beginning, which to me was a key part in knowing what was gonna happen when Cleatus said "turn on the stereo." I was so mad, that's what made me want to buy the VHS Colombia House versions so they wouldn't be edited.

Yeah dumb TBS cut out the beginning of every episode and once you got to the middle of the episode, some things that were said didn't make sense

All the episodes you're mentioning were on the mini-marathons TV Land gives on Thursdays, since they were multiple-part episodes. In fact, Florida's Homecoming came on last Thursday from 5:30 - 7:30pm EST.
