I liked Brenda, who was chamring in her own slightly pathetic little way.She really brought a lot more humanity to the show than Rhoda did,IMHO

I like Brenda and Rhoda.^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Vinton: My orange flourescent polyurathane pinbuster is gooone! (He lost his bowling ball)

Ellen: Oh nonsense.....(looking at Naomi)She's sittin' right there!

Naomi: I'm gonna break your teeth, Ellen pass em' over!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Naomi: I am not a bleached blonde. This hair is completely natural.

Eunice: I've seen more natural hair on a dime store dummy!

Naomi: Oh I was wondering where you bought your clothes!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Naomi: Now you listen here, helmet hair. Everyone in this family has tried to teach this old dog a new trick.

Ellen: I'd thank you if you would not refer to my mother as an old dog, just because tricks don't come as easily to her as they do to you.

My favorite characters on Rhoda are: Rhoda, Brenda, and Ida. I love Rhoda (Not just because she was on MTM and I LOVE MTM) but also because she was someone anyone could identify with and relate to. Brenda was great, beacause she was basically what Rhoda would have been without the benefit of those four years in Minneapolis, and I love Ida because Ida is a "typical mother". I think she was an exaggeration of what a lot of real mothers do.

Ida Morgenstern! Nancy Walker was great in that role on both MTM and Rhoda. I don't think the spin-off would have worked if she wasn't there at least at the beginning.

Cool

Carlton the doorman! I greatly admire Lorenzo Music's ability to create such a memorable character using only his voice!

Hard to say - I see a lot of myself in Rhoda and Brenda. Yet, Ida never failed to crack me up. NO ONE could lay on the guilt like Ida.

Rhoda!! then Brenda & Ida. The women were funnier than the men on this show...no wonder Rhoda got a divorce. Didn't care at all for Benny or Gary or the Johnny Venture character.

Brenda was my favorite, she could be funny without really trying.

I love Rhoda's Dad. He was such a nice man and very handsome . And Brenda, she is such a nice, sweet girl. And funny! I'd love to have her for a Sister!

I like them all, but Brenda makes herself the most likeable of them all. Weird how Julie Kavner didn't really become more famous after the show was over. I mean she is famous as Marge Simpson these days, but one would have thought she would have been more prominent on-camera between Rhoda and The Simpsons. How she even had a lull in her career is baffling to me.

I was just thinking that last night! Of other things she was in besides Rhoda and the voice of Marge Simpson! Such a likable, funny , cool character, I would have loved to see her in more things!
