Okay, I'm really psyched as my favorite reality television series The Amazing Race will be debuting a new season in less than an hour! I absolutely LOVE this show, and I literally get goose bumps thinking about watching it (I know, what a loser, right!)... At any rate, this season, they are having teams of four competing in the race, and the teams are related in some way. There are a few young ones competing-they look to be around ten-years-old-so that puts a new spin on the show. Seeing how difficult and trying it is for two adults to complete the challenges and cross the finish line first, I can only imagine how difficult it will be for groups of four!!! At any rate, I thought I'd start a thread for fans of the show so we may discuss the episodes!!! So, anyone planning on watching?

I love the show, but not this edition. TOO MANY PEOPLE...
I don't like the little kids aspect and the fact it's staying in the U.S. The old format was 1,000% better. This better not kill the show.

I watched the show last night and thought it was great! It didn't appear to lose any momentum with the addition of children into the equation. I didn't realize that the show would be staying in the US and not travelling to other countries, however. I love the international aspect of the show...

I'm suprised when I hear alot of people don't like the addition of kids. I think it adds a new spin on the show. We don't want to watch the same thing each seasons. I was disapointed when one of the teams of kids got eliminated.
It will be more people to get to know and we won't get to know them as well but it is still good to see something different. I don't know how I feel about staying in the U.S.. The places won't be as exciting but that never was that big of a deal to me. |

I was very impressed with the younger team members! The one young girl, I believe her name is Charissa, is simply amazing: bright, intelligent, respectful and energetic!

It was suprising that her team, with kids, was able to come in second.

Another great episode last night! I kept screaming at the television Read the gosh-darn Clue when some of the teams went to the wrong reflecting pool in Washington, DC. (The Sky is Blue... The Sea is Green...)! The New York family is still obnoxious, well just the two sons. I feel bad for the poor, put-upon Mother! The Civil War re-enactment was definitely a major coup for the show... I can only imagine the logistical nightmare it must have been to hire all of those people and have them stand around and wait for the families to arrive!!!
Again, I was dissapointed to see the family eliminated because the father gave the wrong directions, but it's a part of the show. I'm really getting into this season!!!

I think this season's GREAT!! I don't like that italian family, though. They complain too much.
I thought it was cute, though, when that family with the little girl chose to carry the bodies off the field during that Civil War reenactment, and she said "What if we get shot?" |

I think even the mom in the Italian family is annoying. I thought it was funny how in the second episode they had to deliver the suitcase. The way they did it, it seemed like they were in the mob or something. I thought it was funny how the family with they two kids were able to carry the bodies and some of the other teams weren't. After the second episode I was kind of board of the show but this week I got more into it. I started to really like the team with the little kids. Even though they are a little obnixous at times I can't help routing for them since there the under dogs. I had started to like the Florida team and then the started danceing and acting all wierd.

I really enjoyed this past week's episode... mainly because they came to my hometown of Charleston, South Carolina! The Florida family did seem to get a bit spacey, especially on the bus ride to Alabama!

This last episode was pretty boring. I mean, go to a big chair, then to a mobile home seller and a gas station? Some of the tasks this season (Besides the Delaware River crossing and the Civil War re-enactment) have been way too easy/boring. They need to do some more extreme tasks or else this season will be way too boring. Glad to see they're getting out of the US next episode, though.

I agree, some of the things aren't that exiting. And, I'm glad the New York family isn't that annoying anymore, now that they're no longer in last place.
That last "leg" in New Orleans was obviously taped before Katrina hit. |

In fact, I've been to the place where they stayed overnight in that episode, Belmont Plaza in Fairmount Park. And also Valley Forge park, which was in that episode. |
