I wonder if the actor who played Newman was offered to be a cast member on another - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

show because of his performances on Seinfeld. I found out today that he was on a Show during the 1993-1994 season called "Second Half" which only lasted until 1994. Anyone think it was because of how he played Newman that he was offered to be on another show?

Yes. He was also in Third Rock for a long time, while he was still on Seinfeld I believe.
