I have had some complaints lately, that a couple people, in specific, - have been mkaing their discs, after trading them- unburnable.

I scratch my head at that, but- it seems 2 seperate people- traded, one in common user. For the same show.

The show, by both of them- was unable to be burned, by either one of them.

When they confronted the individual- they replied, "Yes- you wont be able to coy my discs, without great difficulty- this is how I limit who has acces to my things, as they are rare- and thereofre preserves the tradable value of it"


So - what is your opinion -
If you trade for something, should you be forewarned- the items are going to be unable to burn- and there might be a limit on you trading them.

Would this prevent you trading that person?

I am curious to feedback.

To me, it seems we are sharing as a community, and often times trade with someone else in mind.
I respect preserving your inventory, and or even the occasional request NOT to trade, the item- this has been promised to me, and by me several times.

However, if a limitation is to be given, I would liek to know up front-


I asked the person in question - and they replied "my obligation in a trade, is that the person I trade can view it ad enjoy it.
Not trade it"

If it is not declared openly up front then they are deceiving the other party in the deal, and it WOULD be an unfair trade because what they are RECEIVING doesnt have the same limitation on it.

If they want to protect their stuff, then fine, but if they are misrepresenting what they are giving you in any way, I would call that dishonest and them a bad trader.

There ARE ways around almost any copy protection scheme, but in some cases it just isn't worth it.

I've bought music cd's that "can't" be copied on your computer because of the protection on them, and while I COULD've just copied them with a little extra work, I just returned the cd's and downloaded just the songs I wanted. (I prefer to listen to music on my computer for my own convenience, so this wasn't just for the sake of sharing them).
