Cool Unsolved Mysteries mentions on other TV shows?

I love it when one of my favorite TV shows mentions another one of my favorite TV shows, especially when it's Unsolved Mysteries! So this is a thread for all the shows that have mentioned Unsolved Mysteries.

I know The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air has mentioned it twice.
Mention # 1 was in Season One's "Nice Lady"
Where Will has to be an escort for Geoffry's friend's daughter (Lady Penelope) who is royalty, but she turns out to be quite the party girl. When at the pool hall/bar, Lady Penelope comments on how nice the people are or something, and this line of course sticks out to me: "Yeah, I think I saw that guy on Unsolved Mysteries!"

Then in "Hex and the Single Guy"
Mention #2, the episode where Hilary tries to connect with a dead Trever, and Will makes fun of the guy giving the seonce and he in turn puts a hex on the family.
Carlton says something like: "This hex is going to get us all one by one until we all end up on Unsolved Mysteries!"

Also, the pilot of Supernatural mentioned Unsolved Mysteries. One of the characters (Sam) had an infinite amount of knowledge about a myth or superstition, and the other character (Dean) says to him: "Thanks, Unsolved Mysteries!"

Any other mentions on TV shows?

I think it was mentioned once on Designing Women. Suzanne was going to turn in Charlene's baby nurse because she saw her on an episode of "Unsolved Mysteries" going by Roberta Harwood. She even said she got a reply back from them.

On the simpsons episode "The Springfield files", Mulder says "When you consider the wonders that exist all around us...
...voodoo priests of Haiti, the Tibetan numerologists of Appalachia, the
unsolved mysteries of -- "Unsolved Mysteries" ...... The truth is out there."

On Grace Under Fire ,episode 28, season 2, "Splitsville". Its the one where Libby starts stealing things at Russell's pharmacy. When Grace has a talk with Libby about her stealing, she acts disappointed when Libby says she'll stop, because Grace wanted Delta Burke to play her in a re-enactment on Unsolved Mysteries.

It was mentioned on Mama’s Family. I think it was the episode where Vinton and Naomi are hunting for criminals.
Mama says, “Y’all sound just like Robert Stack on Unsolved Mysteries.” LOL

They can do that? Even if the show mentioning UM is on a different network? You'd think it's be bad for the networks. I have never heard UM mentioned on AMW or vice versa even though they have so many cases in common. You'd think this would be the first and most common reference. Though John Walsh does make a quick reference to UM in a chapter of his Public Enemies book.

LOL! Actually, Unsolved Mysteries was mentioned on Designing Women in back to back episodes. The first one showed Suzanne asking Charlene about her baby's nanny because she looked like a woman that was shown on Unsolved Mysteries. In the next episode, Suzanne goes one step further. At the end, everyone is yelling at her for calling the Unsolved Mysteries hotline to turn the nanny in.

The UM mention on the Simpsons, that was classic!

It can be guaranteed that the chances of UM being mentioned on AMW or vice versa are slim to none. They may have the same type of format, and have profiled a lot of the same cases, but AMW does its own job as much as UM did its own job.

Plus, they are competitors. Therefore, it is generally unwise for a show to mention a competitor, even if they don't have anything personal against each other.

Default Get a Life

UM was mentioned in a 1990 episode of the short-lived FOX series Get a Life. At the end of the episode "Terror on the Hell Loop 2000" (in which Chris and his friend Larry are stuck on a roller coaster), Chris (Chris Elliott) mentions UM and Robert Stack. However, I don't recall the actual quote.

I should have added that even if someone at UM had an opinion about AMW, or vice versa, chances are they keep it from the public. It wouldn't matter if it was a positive opinion, which may (rightly or wrongly) strike some people as flattery. Of course, a negative opinion is likely to give someone the impression that there is bad blood between the UM people and the AMW people.

In any case, even if one disagrees with me on what I said, one can agree that the people at UM and AMW are just like you and me; we all make statements and conversations in private. We say things that we would never say in public, and the reason is plain and simple: not all conversations are meant for public consumption.

Default not a tv show, but...

in the movie baseketball, there is a really funny unsolved mysteries tie-in, complete with robert stack and even an update!

pretty stoopid (but fairly amusing) movie, but great choice to feature UM!
