Thumbs down I had a Dream

I know this episode has been mentioned in other threads, but this has to be by far the WORST Good Times episode of all time! There was absolutely nothing redeeming about it. I guess the only bright spot to this episode was the actress that played Carmen. She was a hottie.

Yeah Carmen was nice. I bet John Amos was watching this episode in 1977 and shaking his head saying-"why can;t that fool see that they are slipping in negativer stereotypes on us?" "he doesn't know he looks like a a$$hole?-lol

I always hated dream sequences on sitcoms.

Stupid episode indeed. Not to be funny, but I would never dream of being another color. What were they thinking? And yes Carmen was fine. She told the white JJ off didn't she. Saying something like, "You've got to have soul".

I liked the episode. The point to me was to put yourself in other peoples shoes, and see how you can get different results in the same situations for different people. The show kinda summed it up, to me, in the last line when JJ said, " I'd hate to go through that dream in a dress."

And you know I was thinking about why they brought the blue hat back for this episode, and I think cause they wanted the classic JJ character to be shown as white, and you have to have the blue hat to have the classic JJ, and the purple sweater.

I totally disagree. The Judith Cohen Story is the worst episode.

To my knowledge, it was the last time it was shown on Good Times.

I think they kind of ruined the "J.J. dreams he's white episode" by having Jimmie Walker actually there, accompanying his white counterpart throughout the whole thing. It took away from the illusion that he was supposed to have changed.

one thing annoyed me abt the scene where JJ's boss is telling "white JJ" why he isn't going to get promoted, because he is going to give it to a black employee. I can't recall the exact words, but it sounded more like he was preaching, wanting to get that damn audience applause.
