Post The Girls Names

According to Imbd.com The girls real names were
Willamena Josephine- Billie Jo
Roberta Josephine- Bobbie Jo
Elizabeth Josephine- Betty Jo

Were these names ever mentioned on the show? Just curious!

I never heard those names mentioned but I didn't see every episode. Plus there were a number of black and white episodes that are rarely ever replayed. Perhaps the names were mentioned on one of those shows.

I remember in at least one episode,Betty Jo was refered to as Elizabeth Josephine when Kate was calling for her(for probably a 4th time).I do not remember the other girls' real names given that way,but it is possible that is how they were named.

Of course the real reason they were named the way they were was that their father had wanted a boy each time-and had already picked either the names Bill(his name)or Bob.I guess he'd stopped hoping by the time of #3 so Betty Jo had the most feminine name.

Then in the next generation we had baby Kathy Jo, named after her grandmother Kate.

Kathy Jo's full name was likely Katherine Josephine.

At the Shady Rest site, it was revealed that while working on the series, Linda Kaye Henning and the others nicknamed themselves "Linda Jo," "Lori Jo," etc....!

I was thinking about that last night , Kathy Jo being named after her Grandma Kate. I was wondering why they didn't call her Katie Jo? Maybe they thought that would be too sad and went with Kathy Jo instead.

How about if the show went on more seasons and Betty Jo and Steve had more children? Specifically girls, keeping with the K tradition, what are some girls names that start with K that go with Jo? I'm thinking one could be Kelly Jo.
