Mine is episode number 36 titled Cave Woman. Bea Benaderet's potrayal of Kate Bradley antics are more spectacular than ANY other episode.

I liked The Ladybugs(Yeah, yeah, yeah),Birdman of Shady Rest(Steve makes a smash entrance), Author-Author(loved Kate's recitation),and any show where the girls were in swimsuits. (believe it or not, there were less than 12 programs where the girls were shown in any swimsuits.)

I liked The Lucky Ring(where Lori Saunders really made Bobbie Jo her own character), Author-Author(I loved Kate's rendition of Mairzy Doates),It's Not Easy Being A Mother (an episode where I first fully apreciated Meredith MacRae's femininity),and The Valley Has A Baby(not only the addition of a new cast member but the leaving of an old.Kate never appeared again after this episode, which was a fine tribute to her).

I like the episode where Steve and Betty Jo first realize that they are in love. They are working on his plane. It is very romantic and sweet!

Any show with Kate in it. I don't really remember a favorite show but a favorite scene was when Uncle Joe found out that Betty Jo's baby was a girl, Uncle Joe was seen throwing a baseball mitt that he bought for the new baby into the trash. What an interesting scene.

I bought a few of the Columbia House tapes a few years ago, and really recommend anything from the first two seasons -- the B&W episodes that are never shown. They really have their own feel, and the show seems much fresher. The Ladybugs episode and "Kate's Bachelor Butter" are two shows that stand out in this era. And both Jeannine Riley (Billie Jo) and Pat Woodell (Bobbie Jo) are excellent, every bit as good as their successors. Previously, I had only seen them in the first episode, where Billie Jo's character was like a cardboard cutout. Jeannine got much better after that, and Pat was very lovely (great voice, too).

As for "The Valley Has a Baby": that is one weird episode, IMHO. As someone else on this board said once, what a strange way to deal with the inconvenient death of your star! A stand-in is used to play Kate in this episode, and we only see her from behind, or in long-shots. Bea Benederet still provided Kate's voice.

I love the Ladybugs, but my favorite ep is the one about Betty Jo's wedding dress...the dream sequences are hilarious, especially the rock and roll one.

My favorite episode is the one where Billie Jo (Meredith McCrae) was dressed in that French outfit and called "Monique" and she sang "Falling in Love Again" imitating Marlene Dietrich. I just thought that was hilarious. Then when she came back as regular Billie Jo and sang "I Enjoy Being a Girl". She had a great voice.

But the 'wedding' gown episode was hilarious too!

I also loved the one where Kate had a boarder who was playing a saxophone in the middle of the night and no one knew where it was coming from.

Also memorable was "Kathy Jo's" birth and "Kathy Jo's Christening.....especially when Mike Minor sang "The Lord's Prayer". Any episode with Mike or Meredith singing was great!!

Too bad we don't have shows like this any more!

regards,

Larkin

With This Gown, I Thee Wed: Betty Jo figures out which 1 of the 4 gowns she choose for her wedding. the dream sequence was the best scene out of the episode.
