Guys,
I am not sure if this is on Season 2 as well, but notice how "The Professor and Mary Ann" when sung in the theme song that their pictures are shown in reverse order! Was this true on editied versions as well? I should know this and have always just subconsciously assumed that the faces from left to right would match the spoken words. Jack |

I am not quite sure either because I never saw it on CBS. To me it seems weird with it flipped from the song. We mentioned something about it here once http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/...d.php?t=145723

Guys,
I am finishing up my season 3 DVD and I noticed that there is at least 1 episode on the third disk where the pictures of the professor and Mary Ann are in sync with the spoken words. Help me out here, which episode on the DVD is this? Do you think that the original negatives might have been too grainy and they used a syndicated print for this one instance? Warner Brothers did a beautiful job on all three sets in the GI transformation to DVD! Jack |

Boy you sure ask a lot of questions Jack. LOL!
I think that maybe Sherwood was just telling the editors to sometimes rearrange the credits so that the viewer at home would see something a little different every once in awhile, and be more interested in the show. |

In the 1st season of GI the professor and maryann were just refered to as and the rest in the theme song version by the wellingtons when asked of sherwood why that was so he said we had planned to mention their names if the show lasted into a second season as the series was shot down so bad by the critics that they didnt know if it would last a 2nd season but good comedy prevaled and we got 3 seasons and a cartoon and the most popular rerunned show of all time, oh and BTW the wellingtons who sang the theme song in the 1st season apeared in a later episode as the hippy rock group the mosquitos.

Just got the final seaosn today and here are the ones so far with
"Mary Ann and the Professor" reversed: (Season 3 only) UP AT BAT [9/12/66] GILLIGAN VS GILLIGAN [9/19/66] THE HUNTER [1/16/67] That last one (costarring Rory Calhound and Harold Sakata) has abouty THREE minutes footage edited out of Nick a Nite [Calhoun's "hunter" offering to "shoot" Gilligan in the bodily place of his choice--!!!-and Ginger spikiung the hunter's drink with a vial of a deadly sleeping potion made by the Professor offscren.] It, in that part, also has my favorit eof the three rcurin g "Ginger is sexy/.seductive" sax themes 9and the alst)--the one that started on around the Harold Hecuba one--and here is featured THREE choruses! |
