Guys,

I really, really enjoyed this movie about high school life inside and outside of school in the 1980's. Sean Penn was brilliant as Jeff Spicoli, and for many of the other young actors, especially for Penn, this movie catipolted them to super stardom. Ray Walston as History teacher, Mr. Hand was superb as well!

The thing is, I have only seen the standard cable editions of this movie. (TBS/TNT.) I heard that there are tons of outtakes that they show on TV that are not shown in theatures, VHS, OR DVD versions of the movie.

My question is, how much of the movie is cut and is the "R" rated version really graphic with suggested nudity/dialogue? I really enjoyed the edited TV version because of all the added scenes that people say were not in the theatrical release. My understanding is that some of the music is even different in home video versions because of copyright issues. I was told that due to scene changes/more suggestive content in the video/DVD version, that it is almost like watching two different movies. Is this true. Should I get the DVD?

Also, is a Special Edition DVD planned with the added scenes from the TV version?

Aside from Phoebe Cates dropping her top, there were a couple of scenes with Jennifer Jason Leigh that were strategically edited becuase of the nudity.

It's funny that most people remember Phoebe's famous pool scene from "Fast Times," but Jennifer Jason Leigh showed alot more skin in that film.

yeah there is a sex scene between her and that guy she liked, what's his name? anyhow, I prefer the unedited version much better. Also Phoebe walks in on Brad while he is in the bathroom and he is um, well, u know that thing guys do when they are alone...don't want to mention it graphically I don't want to get in trouble here.
