Default oodles of Wings trivia....

Gathered from various sources...

The episode, "My Brother's Keeper", was the first time that 'Timothy Daly' and his sister Tyne Daly co-starred in a production together. They've done this three times- this episode, the 1999 television movie Execution of Justice (1999) (TV), and an episode of Judging Amy.

The character name Carlton Blanchard, played by William Hickey, was taken from a character in the movie Wings (1927), where he was played by William Hickey. (laughed big at that)

As Brian Walks into the terminal entrance beside the lunch counter; on the magazine rack you can clearly see a Entertainment magazine with his face on the cover (not sure what episode)

The aircraft in the opening and closing credits (N121PB) is still in use with Cape Air Airlines of Hyannis, Massachusetts. One of Cape Air's primary destinations in its New England operation (they also operate in Florida, the Caribbean, and Micronesia) is, in fact, Nantucket. This particular aircraft exclusively serves the New England market, so on any given day it is probably flying in and out of Nantucket. When filmed for the credits, 121PB was in the livery of the now-defunct Express Air of New Bedford, Massachusetts. Shortly after the filming, it became the property of Cape Air and has been used in that airline's service ever since. Prior to Express Air, it was in service for Provincetown-Boston Airlines (hence the PB in the registration), which went out of business the year before Cape Air started.

The above explains the identification call "Nevada 121 Papa Papa".

The show's theme music is a shortened version the Rondo from the Piano Sonata in A Major by Franz Schubert.

There is a Tom Nevers Field on Nantucket, but it's not the airport, it's a sports complex. The airport on Nantucket is Nantucket Memorial Airport

The Club Car is an actual restaurant, except it's by reservation only, and the fare is in the hundred dollar price range.

The exterior shots of the airport on the show are of the real Nantucket airport. However, the interior looks nothing like on the show.

Fay had three husbands named George. The first died when he was hit by a truck; the second dropped dead in his chair; the third is never mentioned. Fay nearly married a fourth George, but called it off when learning of his given name during the ceremony.

In "Marriage, Italian Style", a throwaway line by Lowell indicates his mother dropped him off at school one day and never picked him up. Thus, he, Brian, and Joe were all apparently abandoned by their mothers.

Antonio basically lets slip that a scandal involving him sleeping with a teacher lead him to go to America and drive a cab. Yet Antonio's first appearance on Wings is as a waiter.

In "This Old House" Helen corrects Lowell that they didn't know him as a kid. But while seeing the ghost of his dad, Joe hears the line "That was the Mather kid in a parka chewing on a carrot", which Joe agrees with.

While preparing for a date with Davis, Lowell spills a pan of sauce just off the stove on Helen's stomach. However she doesn't scream, but only shrieks for a second at the mess her dress has become.

S'more.....

The couple who's wedding Joe and Helen crash were actually married in real-life.
http://www.davidkaufmanonline.com/album/pages/wings.htm

In The Bank Dick, the customer in line that Brian gets tough with is actually Crystal's father, Jerry.
http://www.jerrybernard.com/JERRYBIO.htm scroll down and theres are pics from the set of The Bank Dick

On Sandpiper's first day back in business Fay rambles into the mic that the cause of the crash is "unknown and blamed on pilot error". She may be suffering from early Alzheimer's as it was clearly shown that one engine failed and the other was hit by lightning.

Joe says the most handsome man in the world is Peter Jennings, though when asked who would play him (Joe) in a movie, he says Tom Cruise because of his looks.

At least you're not coming up with "interesting questions". Which brings up an interesting question...

What happened to Kenny??? Inquiring minds need to know!

You know how tight things were for Joe financially. Kenny was probly let go in a very heart wrenching scene off-screen. Or perhaps he left for college. They seemed to try a number of new characters all the time. Kenny, Helen's Crab Boy came back, Alex, Antonio. Only they ended up staying, and of course Alex was fazed out as well.

The other night in "...Mather Around the House", Lowell says he learned how to cook from his mother, who was "a saint". However, in a bit mentioned above, he told Fay his mother took him to school one day and never picked him up.

Now either Lowell's mother taught him a lot about cooking as a child, or the writers flubbed yet again . Because he told Fay "A little boy..." so he must've really taken to his mother's cooking instructions as a tyke.

Helen gives Joe tickets to opening day at Fenway park. He tells Helen that he doesnt have to take her because they were boyfriend and girlfriend when the tickets were purchased. This is impossible as they have been broken up for over a year and opening day baseball tickets can only be purchased about four months in advance.

Maybe his mother just forgot to pick him up that DAY. We all know how hollow the Mather's heads are. lol

There is an episode of Wings titled "The Faygitive" which is obviously a play on the title of the 60's TV show and 1993 movie The Fugitive. Tim Daly later went on to start in the short-lived updated TV version of The Fugitive.

Antonio mentions in the episode "Escape from New York" that he'd never cheated death before after he's nearly hit by a car. Apparently, he has a repressive memory and didn't remeber what happened to him after he ate Bob's jelly donut.
