Default Misheard song lyrics...

Ever hear a song and you sing along to it for years and later find out the lyrics you were saying all along were wrong???

For me, growing up I loved that song "Blinded by the Light" the version done by Manfred Man. I always used to think that part of the song where they say: Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night.

I used to sing it like this:
Blinded by the light
revved up like a douche like a roller in the night.

ROTFLMAO!!!!

I used to think it was "wrapped up like a douche" I think that was one of the most misheard lyrics ever, lol

I'm not sure who sings the song, I think it's Paul Young, but the song goes like this: Everytime you go away, you take a piece of me with you.

I use to think the lyrics were: Everytime you go away, you take a piece of meat with you.

Yep, that was Paul Young. It did sound like that's what he was saying. Very annoying. LOL

almost half of "She Bop" by Cyndi Lauper, I didn't understand as a kid.
"they say I better stop or I'll go blind"="a superstar or I'll go blind" (yes, I didn't think the song made sense when I heard that)
"I hope he will understand"="I don't even understand" (which could sorta make sense if she doesn't know what Bopping is, lol)

"La Isla Bonita" by Madonna
"last night I dreamt of San Pedro"="last night I drank up some Faygo" (that is how I sang the song for years, lol)

"Opportunities (Let's Make Lots Of Money)" by Pet Shop Boys
"I've got the brains, you got the looks, let's mate lots of monkeys"

The first time I heard Sweet Emotion by Areosmith, I thought he was singing
wheels in motion.

In "Midnight Rider" by the Allman Brothers Band,

There's a line that goes

"Some old bed I'll soon be sharing."

I heard it as

"Some old men I'll soon be sharing," which made me wonder what the hell ol' Gregg was up to!!

If anyone wants to have some fun with this topic, go to:

http://www.kissthisguy.com/

The website is based on the 'Scuse Me While I Kiss This Guy book, a compilation is misheard lyrics. Lots of fun!!

A girl that my mom worked with was at a wedding reception and was singing to ACDC's "You shook me all night long." Instead of "she was a fast machine" she was signing "she was a fax machine"

My son used to think Tom Petty was singing "running down the drain".
