Does anyone remember the Special Alert about Art Jones? It was on the episode that aired on 11-6-91 on NBC and I've seen it on Lifetime as well. He was in his 50's and his house was leveled by a gas explosion around 3 am. They searched the ruins for 19 hours and found no sight of him.
The reason I ask is I'm almost positive there was an update (that I don't have on tape) that said his body was eventually found in a field behind the house. Does anyone else remember the update? Also did they say whether they think he died because of the explosion or foul play? I tend to believe it was just an accident. Maybe the explosion injured him and he could have been disoriented and wandered into the field and died of his injuries. |

I remember that and the update from a Lifetime segment. You are correct, it was a quick special alert segment that lasted only a couple minutes, and the update about his body being found just outside the property made it seem like the search party just didn't look hard enough. It was weird.

Yes, it was one of those things where you wonder if there really was an update or just your imagination. I agree about the search party not looking hard enough. I wonder how long after the explosion he was found.
Thanks for the info, Composite Sketch!

Yeah, I remember that too! It seemed like just as soon as they put out the special alert they found his body. I saw that not too long ago on Lifetime.
