This sitcom stars CHRISTOPHER MACDONALD as Chris Spencer, who works as a Public Relations executive, who's life is surrounding by women. Chris lives with his loving wife, Jane Spencer (JOAN CUSACK), and their three daughters: Chrissy Spencer, 21 (ASHLEY JOHNSON), Mallory Spencer, 17 (SCARLETT POMERS), and Lilly Spencer, 11 (LILIANA MUMY). Chris's neurotic, newly divorced sister, Kelly McMason (PAULA MARSHALL) often drops by with her numerous problems and dilemmas. Chris (and Kelly)'s widowed, overbearing mother, Jackie Spencer (FLORENCE HENDERSON) often stops over to add her two cents and advice (wanted AND unwanted) to her son and his family. Chris's strict, hard-nosed boss, Pam Hennessy (PENNY MARSHALL) secretly shows her soft-side to Chris, after Pam accidently breaks down (due to stress) in front of him and fears her unstability will not get out to the other employees. Chris's fun-loving and flamboyant personal assistant/secretary, Suzette Peters (DELTA BURKE) becomes Chris's somewhat-sorta-best friend (besides his wife, Jane, of course) who gets Chris to loosen-up and live-a-little.
