The episode where I really hated the Brady kids - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Was episode, "Goodbye Alice, Hello" Man were they brats! Alice took care of those snot nose brats and they ganged up on her and gave her the silent treatment! No wonder she left! She shouldn't have came back! Teach them a lesson that you don't sh*it where you eat! The thing that got me was Alice didn't do anything to the rest of them and they treated her like sh*it! Thumbs down for the Brady Brats in this episode!

Yeah I hated how they assumed that Alice had tattled on them and all that other stuff. When it was their own damn fault for screwing up. They were so used to having her around they began to treat her like she is supposed to clean up after them. I remember growing up we had a live-in housekeeper/babysitter, BUT THE DIFFERENCE WAS I still had alot of things to around the house. Having a housekeeper didn't preclude me from doing things around the house. I had to take turns doing dishes, cleaning the bathroom, etc. It's called RESPONSIBILITY.
Just remember when her cousin (i think) came to take care of them while Alice was out of town? She had been in the military? Why didn't they remember how crappy it was then??? How soon they forget!!

I know what you both mean...I never liked the way the kids all just got up and walked away from the breakfast table when they were done eating...couldn't they at least have each brought their dishes to the sink so Alice wouldn't have to pick up dishes of eight people? Same with dinner in the living/dining room area...

The least the kids could have done in that episode is let Alice tell her side of the stories...but of course, if they did that, the episode would have been over 15 minutes early...

BTW, the episode where they ganged up on Alice, notice Mr. Brady wasn't in that episode and they didn't explain where he was at. He wasn't even mentioned.

Yes, they were pretty mean in that episode.

I've noticed, too, that they never had to do much work. In one episode Alice gave all the chores she had to do, including making beds. Those kids should have been making their own beds for years. There is once when we see the boys making their beds, though.

On the contrary, I remember many times the kids mentioning they had to do chores. Usually their bets involved doing the winner's chores.

Back to Alice....yes, the kids were very mean to her in that episode. Poor Alice.

They did often talk about it, but we seldom see them doing the work. A few we see: Bobby feeding Tiger, (Tiger Tiger) and Peter cutting the "grass" (Confessions Confessions), and all the kids doing yardwork in Dear Libby.

In the first season Marcia was supposed to do chores but instead was working on her "Father of the Year" letter.

Also, Bobby wanted to run away because Carol asked him to clean out the fireplace.

In the episode in which Peter breaks the vase, the kids have to do Peter's chores as punishment for each of them "confessing" to the crime. Greg and Bobby have to take down the screen windows (making Greg miss a ball game) and clean them.

I could be wrong on this, but I think Peter told Greg that he'd have to take the screens down, clean them, and "put them in the cellar." Am I remembering this correctly, or did he say "attic"...Is this the only time a cellar is mentioned in an episode?

I remember Carol having Bobby clean the fireplace...that can be a messy job, especially for a little kid like Bobby was at that time. Very easy to kick up ashes and send them all over the room, if you don't do it right.

I think the kids just did chores when doing so fit into the plots. Otherwise, they were just plain lazy.
