I was going to wait for the DVD as well, but I've been hearing lots of great things so I think I'll catch it in theaters now.

What the hell is with people? Why wait until a movie comes out on dvd?

Go experience it the way movies good & bad were meant to be experienced for a hundred years now: AT THE THEATER then a few months later get the dvd AFTER you've seen it at the THEATER.

Sorry I just had to say that because i'm tired of hearing i'll wait until comes out dvd.

Just kidding. Man I'm seeing this in theaters. Burton's overrated but this looks good.

Movie tickets are expensive nowadays and there are some people like myself who are very picky about what movie to spend their money on. It's cheaper to rent a movie than to pay to see it in theaters.

maybe some people don't really like the theatrical experience, having people sitting three rows behind you that don't stop talking once the lights dim, having an annoying lady sitting the row ahead of you who has a laugh so annoying that there could be a Seinfeld episode about it, etc...

When I was 18-19, I used to go to the movies almost every week, now I might go once every two months. There are still movies like Star Wars that HAVE to be seen on the big screen and movies like 40 Year Old Virgin that you end up seeing because you've heard so much good about, but for the most part, it'll save you money if you just wait 3 months and rent it. I mean, look how fast it took for Monster-In-Law and The Longest Yard to come out on DVD.

Exactly!

It's way expensive.

The DVDs come out fairly quickly now days.

And...

I personally cannot stand the distractions of the theatre audience. Talking; chewing food; slurping drinks. Disgusting. Then, add to that people getting up, sitting down to go/come back from getting the food and the bathroom breaks. Bumping you as they do this. The smell of food; the smell of perfume; other smells. Ugh! Or, you find what you think is a great spot to sit, only to have some giant with big hair sit directly in your line of vision.

I see very few films in the theatre. Some, though, are a must-see on the big screen. Titanic was one of those, as might be other special effects films.

I want to see Corpse Bride. It depends on my mood this weekend or next as to whether or not I see it in the theatre.
