Default Question about the episode where Dan&Roseanne smoke pot?

Ok, I'm no expert on marijuana or anything but isn't there more side effects to smoking pot that was so old & would you even still get a buzz from it? I mean for god's sake, Roseanne said she had that stash since they were in high school?? I didn't really like that episode because it set a bad example for kids. Well I saw Roseanne & Dan smoking pot on tv, so I guess it's ok to smoke weed!

You mean more side effects other then eating more crap and caring less about your personal demons?
As far as gettin high from 20yo weed, I believe it to be quite possible, although the buzz would probably be more like a headache.
Its interesting, even though I wasn't pleased with this episode either, for different reasons, I thought it set an example for kids on why not too smoke.

You don't sound stupid at all bro. But you're correct, in that if it was stored in a warm moist area, it would definetly get moldy. If it were to be stored in a cool dry place, it would more then likely dry out and loose most of its THC.

I can see if Roseanne and Dan were drug users but they weren't. So why would they try pot that was over 20 years old? Hell, even if they found a "fresh stash" of pot, why would they do it?

Oh come on, aren't we getting a little too serious about this? We all know smoking pot is bad for you, but this is one of the best episodes in TV history!

It was hilarious. But on a technical standpoint, wouldn't the pot have gone bad? moldy? stale? lose its substance? Medications have expiration dates because over time they are no longer able to serve its purpose.

This was a fabluous episode! Well-written and, more to the point, pretty accurate. While older pot does indeed lose its potency, it can still get you pretty stoned. Because it has dried out over the years, the smoke will be harsher and it might not taste very good and you'll probably have to smoke a bit more to feel the effects.

I think drinking is probably worse for you than smoking pot. There's plenty of literature out there for those interested in the topic of how pot came to be illegalized, while drinking remains legal and acceptable. I'd recommend "Reefer Madness" as a starting point.

I collect vintage stereo equipment and I once bought a record player that had a little baggie stashed under the turntable. Some friends smoked it (I would never do such a thing) and got pretty baked, just like Dan and Roseanne...

How would I know? I've never smoked pot before-LOL. I'm sure it must go bad, unless it's one of those things, like canned goods, that just don't go bad

It was a funny episode. My favorite line was said when Rosey and Dan were in the bathroom and they heard a voice from behind the bathtub curtain go, "Nobody likes me" uttered by Jackie. LOL.

You guys do have me thinking about how accurate the pot situation is though. Would it actually have molded if left in a moist placer after almost 25 years? Hmmm.....

That scene in the bathroom was probably the funniest scene of Roseanne ever. So many great lines-LOL. My favorite was definitely Jackie there. Roseanne and Dan were talking about the pdding pop, and Jackie just pops out of nowhere in the tub-LOL. My favorite line was "Is this the sink or am I shrinking" , or "It's just me - me and my ganja"-LOL, or when DJ comes to the door, Jackie screams "The jig is up"
