Default What is your one fave childhood memory?

I remember our camping trips my parents used to take our family on. We went all out. It was fun and I remember how happy we were. I recall my late brother always taking care of me, never complaining abt having to watch me, or taking me with him. My mom would make these elaborate meals with the little burner stove. I remember laughing at my sister when she and I slept in a tent and she would snore. I can even remember the music playing on the radio. It was the Jackson Five. Whenever I hear their music from that time period it always takes me back to that time.

I grew up in the projects, there were a lot of good times. I am going to say in the early and mid 80s, we use to have block parties every late summer. We had break dancing contests, danced to the music that was popular at the time. Just being around people you grew up with was just a blast. I miss those days, but I don't dwell on it.

God, I miss so much from childhood. Most especially, when my cousins lived with us(they shared the apartment downstairs with our aunt and uncle) and I'd play with my cousin Janene. She was like a sister to me and we'd have fun swimming in our pool or just going to the park together.

I also miss holidays during childhood. I remember playing in the snow around X-mas and the world just seemed SO huge.

Good times

Probably time spent with my dad. I've got an awesome Daddy... Mom, not so sure of... but my Dad was always the best.

I can't wait to have kids of my own to make memories with! I get giddy thinking of it (of course, when they cry at night i might have a diff. opioion temporarliy)

True. You know, when I grew up and was forced to go to private catholic school I told myself I am never gonna do that to my kids. Guess what??? I did! LOL But they loved it and they had a blast going to private school. Sometimes as a parent you wonder, am I doing things right? But the love and respect you get back is so well worth it. Yeah, the night crying is a pain sometimes, but such a joyous pain. It's a sign that you have a child that's alive!!!

The time I went to my friends 11th birthday party. I was so nervous because that was the first time I had been to her house and I was afraid that she was going to invite this girl I didn't like (who was her best friend the previous year but they had a fight.) But when I got there I found out that it was only me, my best friend Leah, and this girl named Brittany (who later became one of my best friends.) I remember she had this delicious ice cream cake with two candles on it; that was all the candles she had.

We eventually got bored so we decided to take one of her inflatable sleds and use it as a raft to float down the creek behind her house on, which on the side was clearky marked "DO NOT USE AS FLOTATION DEVICE." Well, that didn't work out too well. We ended up tipping over and getting all wet. I can still hear her mother, "You girls get out of that water right now! The last thing I need is three mothers complaining about your pneunomia!"

Later that night we were played truth or dare and did makeovers and all that stuff. I don't know why, but thinking about that day always makes me smile. To this day, I never miss any of her parties.

Just being with my friend Leah who used to live right down the street from me. We would do everything like riding around our dead end street on our bikes, playing Barbies, going to our community pool, jumping through the sprinklers, climbing her tree and finding new idiotic ways to swing from the branches, pulling her dog in the wagon, playing Hide and Seek, running over to her house to watch Sailor Moon, walking home from the bus together, talking for hours about Pokemon cards, playing in the lot at the end of our street( there is now a house there) and pretending there were wolves and rattlesnakes in there, jumping up and down to the Spice Girls CDs ( ) rolling down my hill, builidng forts during the winter, her awesome birthday parties etc etc.

It helped to have someone to be outside all day with away from my house and my parents, now matter how crappy things were at home. I never spent as much time indoors as I do now. There is something beautiful about being a kid. Life just seemed so much easier.
