Poor Rory. All that community service. And poor Luke. Being all modern. A great episode. I cannot wait for next week's installment. Great quote:

Okayyy, let's start with the first scene. I didn't like it nearly as much as I expected to. I don't know what it was, it just didn't seem right to me. Maybe I need to see it again or something. Next, Rory. I really dislike her. She is becoming such a typical young person and basically the female version of Logan (ugh). I think if one thing could ruin this show for me, it would be Logan.

Those are the two major parts that I was ehh about. I also thought it sucked that Sookie took no part in this episode. I thought she would be one of the first people Lorelai told about the engagement, but she wasn't even around.

7/10? The previews for the next episode looked greaaat. I made my mother watch it with me and she hated it. A lot. She has seriously mentioned it to me about five times already.

I enjoyed the premiere very much. Well worth the wait.

I really liked how much more screen time they gave Luke in the episode. He really seems to be taking to his new role of "man of the house."

(A brief aside here - they have got to give us more Paris/Luke scenes in later episodes. Watching Luke try to deal with the tornado that is Paris is hysterical.)

Great stuff. What other scenes did you guys like?

I completely agree. It'll be interesting to see how they incorporate Paris into the show now that Rory isn't going to Yale.

Since Paris disapproves of Rory's decision to drop out, I'm sure she'll be popping up from time to time to remind Rory of that bad decision.

Paris has always been known for the subtle way she deals with people.

I agree--more Paris/Luke would make for a great laugh. It was neat watching Luke answer the door... aww, "man of the house" as someone said.

A few of my fav. moments:
--"Chick Beer"
--I know someone else said they didn't like the begining, but I loved the "wha.." "Luke will you ma--" "yes", "you can thi--" , "yes"... i thought it was cute!
--Rory is truly becoming a jerk... I think Logan doesn't like the "new" Rory and wants the one he fell for back
--I thought when Kirk told Babit she had a nice ring... lol, typical Kirk!
--"you went modern" poor Luke!!
--The end made me wanna cry for Lorelai... throwing that bottle across the room and crying on Rory's bed but then Luke came! I hope they let us see when he gives her the ring!!

I can't wait until next week. It'll be interesting to see Lorelai and Rory's little spat, and watch Rory's reaction when Luke tells her they are engaged.

All and all... I give it a 10!!

I liked it when Luke and Lorelai kissed in the gazebo. It was very sweet.

I loved that line! I couldn't stop laughing. This espisode was very good....loved the Paris/Luke interaction. I'm not too fond of Rory right now...and I hate Logan. Next week's episode seems really good as well. I can't wait to see Rory and Lorelai together after Rory finds out about the engagement...

I am of the opinion that Season 5 was the best so far. Having said that, I'm not sure it will be topped. What I enjoyed most was Rory's relationship with Logan and how the writing for their relationship helped to bring her out of her shell, so-to-speak.
Spoilers ahead!

Later in this season Milo Ventimiglia(Jess Mariano), who is Alexis's real-life boyfriend will be changing the whole Rory - Logan dynamic.

I'm watching it again (I downloaded it). I don't know what it was when I saw it on Tuesday, I just didn't like it that much. Now that I'm watching it again, it seems a lot better to me. It might have been because my mom was watching it with me the first time and making bad comments about it every 10 seconds and making me feel like a fool for liking it. Hmm. Okay, so 8.5/10.
