I don't have much of an idea for a plot, but it's quite simple to decide what the kids are all up to now; show them doing what the actors are really doing now. David is still making music as a solo act, Laurie became an actress, Danny a DJ, Chris became a race car driver, and Tracy..., well, what is Suzanne doing now?

And Shirley would be married to a crazy comedian/agent that none of her kids can stand!

To me, the perfect Partridge Family reunion would have been made around 1986, and would have focused on Reuben trying to convince the family to go on the road for a nostalgic reunion tour (remember "The Monkees" did a reunion tour around the same time?). Some of the kids would have been reluctant to go on tour, the same way some of the actors would have been reluctant to do the movie. |

I think the time has come and past for a PF reunion show.
I think the real reason we have so many BB reunion shows is because the actors have nothing much to do. The 1995 MTV Speed parody was done in excellent taste. You know you can move on in your career, when you can look back and make fun of yourself. I wish Susan Dey would learn this. Don't be so uptight.

Don't forget that Danny is also a writer, and now co-hosts Dick Clark's syndicated talk show "The Other Half", which is sort of a male version of "The View".
I think the reunion movie should also show how Danny abused drugs and hit rock bottom, before meeting a wonderful woman who helped him straighten out his life. Of all of the lives after "The Partridge Family", I find his to be the most interesting story. Because he was able to overcome so much to succeed against all odds. He talks about much of this in his book. |

Susan's busy doing the "L.A. Law" reunion now, and I'm surprised she agreed to do that!

Here's how I think it should go:
Shirley and Reuben are now married. Reuben still manages various acts, but is nowhere near being a "power player". They live modestly but happily, until a bad investment deal loses them a lot of money and they are in danger of losing their house! The only way out is for the PF to get back together for a reunion tour, something that the kids have all been resistant to for a number of reasons. One is that Shirley is tired of living out of suitcases and they don't want to do it without her; another is that most of them have moved on away from show biz, and a third is that Danny has developed substance abuse problems that drove a wedge between him and the others, though he is clean and sober now. But one at a time, the kids are asked to do it, and they all agree for Shirley's sake. Danny is the most reluctant, feeling that the others abandoned him when he needed them most, but ultimately agrees. Along the way, there could be a plotline about Reuben having to testify against his stockbroker, on an insider trading charge, and the stockbroker hiring thugs to sabotage the tour and make it look as if Reuben is doing it as an insurance scam so that his testimony will be discredited, or something. Danny finds out about it, and tries to tell the others, but without evidence, they don't believe him and he and Reuben have to work together again (!) to prove it. Obviously, there would be lots of music, too. I think they should show at least one solo Cassidy performance of one of his solo hits, and it would be great if they could use up some of the songs from the original PF albums that didn't get an airing on the show when it was first on, such as "Lay It On The Line" or "Take Good Care Of Her." But at some point, the classic "I Think I Love You" would also have to be included. |

the only idea that makes any sense to me is the way they did the brady bunch movies, which were great (with ex-cast walk-ons).
the only problem is that the original show was less cutesy and square than BB,therefore not as easy to cap on.still,it seems ripe for parody. |

I think if they did a "Partridge Family" reunion movie,do it like "The Brady Bunch". Here are my ideas:
"THE PARTRIDGE GIRLS GET MARRIED" Created by Bernard Slade;Directed by Peter Baldwin; Written by Bob Claver and Paul Junger Witt CAST Shirley Jones as Shirley Partridge David Cassidy as Keith Partridge Susan Dey as Laurie Partridge Danny Bonaduce as Danny Partridge Brian Forster as Christopher Partridge Suzanne Crough as Tracy Partridge and Dave Madden as Reuben Kincaid Shirley misses the kids, now grown up and out of the house. Keith is the lead guitarist for a rock group called The Screaming Rugrats; Laurie is a fashion designer;Danny is a high school athelete;Chris is a race car driver, and Tracy works at a beauty shop. And Reuben manages new acts. One day,Laurie meets a new man(or should I say OLD FRIEND). It's Lester Braddock,Keith's rival from the past. At the same time Laurie meets her date,Tracy finds one. She finds a 18-year old college guy named Theodore Bradford. Soon the girls call Mom on the phone, and before you can say "I Think I Love You", the girls arrange for a double wedding, and their brothers and sisters are invited. "A VERY PARTRIDGE CHRISTMAS" Created by Bernard Slade;Written by Steve Zacharias & Michael Leeson;Produced by Bob Claver;Directed by Earl Bellamy The gang comes home for the holidays for a Christmas dinner, but there's problems: Laurie's husband Lester loses his job at Sunshine Toys;Danny and his wife Brittany are getting a divorce; Tracy plans a beach party for her friends;Chris wants to be a businessman;Keith and his wife Julie have an argument, and Reuben tries to save 2 men in an abandoned building, but gets trapped. But in the end,the family got to have a merriest of Christmases, plus an old friend drops by to see them: it's the original Chris(played by Jeremy Gelbwaks) who visits the Partridges after a long tour from his work as a jazz drummer. If there are any more Partridge reunions, post them on this board, and I'll read them as soon as possible! |
