Here are some of my favorite lines from the pilot:

DANNY: Hey,why don't we let Mom sing Gloria's part?

CHRIS: Mom? Have you flipped?

DANNY: Look,she's better than nothing.

SHIRLEY: Thanks for the vote of confidence,but I'm afraid I have to turn you down.

KIDS: Why?

SHIRLEY: We'll I can think of a lot of good reasons,but there's one very good one: I'm tone deaf!

LAURIE: Oh,that's not true. You have a very sweet voice.
