in 1993, when you first heard about the upcoming series "Saved by the Bell: The New Class"?
I was excited about it. I remember watching the first episode when it originally aired. The gang were featured on the back of a cereal box at that time. Later, they had their own comic book. I believe it only made two or three issues, though. I liked it, but figured it wouldn't last. Then when it was picked up for a second season, I figured it would last four seasons and then have a third series "Saved by the Bell: The Third Class" (hey, I was young ). Even when all the changes in cast were made, I still figured the show would end after four seasons. I was surprised when it kept coming back after that. It wasn't until recently, that I realized the gang were in different grades throughout the seasons. So, what did you think? Not so much what you think of the show, but what you thought when you first heard there was going to be a new class series. |

I didnt care as much about the first season of New Class. But later when Sarah Lancaster joined I never missed an episode. Seasons three and four were the best IMO. Cant remember five or six as much, the upcoming DVDs are ones I am looking forward to obviously. I was glad that Mr. Belding was in the new class. HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY!!!!

I think I thought it wasn't a great idea, that they shouldn't revive the show with a new cast. My first thought was "why would anyone want to see Saved By The Bell without Zack, Slater and the rest?" I thought I might give it a try but once I got a look at that first cast, I just wasn't interested.
Eventually, after that first season, I grew to embrace the show. |

I remember when the cast changed again for the third season, that was the main thing I looked forward to in the fall - what were the changes in the cast? My older sister got teen magazines or something and they usually had the TNBC shows advertised with cast photos. So I'd find out that way.

I didn't know anything about it. I tuned in one day and as the opening credits rolled, The New Class popped up under the title. My young mind thought "What the hell is this?" but watched and loved it anyway.
