I feel quite incapable posting this because I can usually connect my own technical problems around a little playing around. However, I cannot find an answer to this one, so I am posting this....
I have a Sonic Blue/Go.Video VHS/DVD combo VCR, and I have always been able to connect it to my mom's and sister's older model TVs (a Magnavox and Zenith). They connect fine and play fine. But.... I bought a 20" flatscreen Emerson TV a few days ago, and I am having trouble connecting my DVD/VHS VCR combo to the TV. There is no coaxial connection from my TV. The only two options I have are for S-video and Audio. I have a splitter for the audio AND have an S-video cord. Okay, I connect the other ends to the VCR. STILL.... I am NOT able to see anything when I hit "Power" on my VCR. Usually, you'd have to change to channel 3 or something. Argh... This is frustrating!! I want to watch some of my videos and be able to record stuff, too!!!! ![]() Well.... I have already looked through the user manual on my TV, and I don't see anything. Anyone might have an idea what the best way to have this Emerson TV "recognize" the VCR is connected???? Anyone?? ![]() What do I have to do to make them recognize/read each other? |

somewhere on that remote there should be a "source" or "video" button that will let you select which input the monitor will display.
press it. maybe even a coupla times. |

I downloaded the VCR's manual in PDF, and here's a print screen of that portion. I do not have a "Video Input" at the back of my Emerson TV like it shows in the sample image below. Argh... this is annoying me. Anyone have a similar problem??? Please.. I NEED input on this!

You probably already have, but have you tried using the front A/V jacks. After you insert the RCA's(y,r,w) into the front of the TV, turn the TV too Video 2. |

Guess what, everyone!
I GOT it working!!!!!!!! Oh my gosh!!!! Hahaha... Let me explain how.... What i had to do: I had to plug my A/V cords at the front of the TV. Back of the VCR: I plugged in the L/R audio cords into my "DVD/VHS in" plug!! Wow! I still have my S-video connection connected to the TV and to the VCR! Soooo happy!!! Thanks again for all of your helpful suggestions!!! |
