UM did, in fact, have a 1989 segment about an old man who was found shot to death. It was a 68-year-old man named Dexter Stefanik (if I spelled the last name correctly). In November of 1985, He was en route home to Wisconsin (from his son's residence in Oregon), only to disappear for several months, until his body was found in a landfill in 1986. On the same day he disappeared, his car was found torched. Dexter had been shot twice in the head. And it wasn't long before cops found graffiti in a restroom. The graffiti was apparently made by the killer, as it included references to Dexter's murder. Could you have been thinking of the Dexter Stefanik murder? |

There was never any update on George Owens the last time they aired the segment. That doesn't mean that nothing happened, but this repeated while Lifetime was still adding updates to cases with their announcer, so they must have not followed up or nothing was ever found of him.
