Default Bittersweet

Bittersweet

This drama/sitcom is about the life of 40-something Lisa Raeburn (Elizabeth Perkins), a bitter middle-classed wife and mom. Lisa and her estranged husband, Greg Raeburn (Gary Cole) live in Trenton, New Jersey with their only daughter: Kylie, 17 (Alexa Vega). Kylie is a misunderstood and slightly rebellious high school junior, who is always looking for a good-time..somewhere. Lisa and Greg's married hasn't been the same, since Greg admitted to having an affair five years ago. Now, ever since, they have been growing apart. Greg is a well-known accountant, Lisa is a teller at a bank branch.
Lisa's happily married younger sister, Beth Taylor (Rita Wilson) and her wholesome family live in Trenton as well. Lisa and Beth are really close friends and best friends, even though they seem to be nothing similiar. Beth and her businessman husband, Jeff Taylor (Ted McGinley) have three growing children: Derek, 17 (Drake Bell), Jessie, 14 (Amy Bruckner), and Jordan, 10 (Frankie Ryan Manriquez). Derek is a high school junior who just released joined a band and loves music (as much as girls). Jessie is a high school freshman, who is very insecure and weight-conscious. Jordan is a fun-loving 5th grader, who loves bothering his sister and looks up to his big brother in every way. Jeff is an advertizing executive, Beth is a housewife/stay-at-home mom.
In this show, we see the trials and tribulations of life, love, marriage, work, children, sex, money, and other everyday events. But, everyone is thrown for a loop (in the pilot) when Lisa discovers she's got a lump in her breast.
