Default Was the show "In The House" a spin-off of this show?

Aite, I've never seen in the house until now & I watch it late at night on Tvone.Anyway last nights episode had Carlton & Ashley in it! I thought it was pretty funny how they linked these two characters in with the show. So anyway do you consider In The House a spin-off of Fresh Prince?

No. I don't think In The House was a spin-off of Fresh Prince. I think when In The House aired, it was before or after the The Fresh Prince, so the characters just basically crossed over. I do remember the episode that your talking about.

Yeah it was just a crossover, not a spinoff. Interesting Fact about Fresh Prince Crossovers, all the shows that Fresh Prince crossed over with to help boost ratings was eventually cancelled. Those NBC shows were

Out All Night, Blossom, and In The House.

I'll post info about Out All Night. I remember watching the show some. It's been almost 20 years since I've seen it, so I don't remember a whole lot about it off hand. I do however remember MC Hammer making a guest apearance.

Taken from the book, The Complete Directory To Prime Time Network And Cable TV Shows.

First Telecast: September 19, 1992
Last Telecast: July 9, 1993

Broadcast History:
Sep 1992-Oct 1992, NBC Sat 8:30-9:00
Nov 1992-Jan 1993, NBC Thu 8:00-8:30
Feb 1993, NBC Fri 8:00-8:30
Jun 1993-Jul 1993, NBC Fri 8:30-9:00

Cast:
Chelsea Paige...................Patti LaBelle
Jeff Carswell................Morris Chestnut
Vidal Thomas..................Duane Martin
Charisse Chamberlin.........Vivica A. Fox
Angus McEwen...............Simon O'Brien

Grammy winner Patti LaBelle starred as a former singing star and owner of a high-tech Los Angeles nightclub in this hip, music-oriented black sitcom. Club Chelsea was the trendiest spot around, with flashing lights, high-energy dancers and a video wall. Jeff, a recent NYU graduate with dreams of becoming a music enterpreneur, smooth-talked Chelsea into making him manager-trainee. Chelsea also got Jeff and his buddy Vidal a luxurious apartment in a building she owned. Also in the building were Charisse, Chelsea's daughter and a successful fashion stylist, who had to deal with constant overtures from horny, happy-go lucky Vidal, and Angus, a Scottish student who was the stereotypically nutty neighbor. Dance routines and songs by pop groups at the club enlivened this otherwise unlikely series.

I thought Out All Night was underrated and had a talented cast. Being a Patti LaBelle fan, I recorded the episodes off BET when they reran the show in 1994. It aired most nights right after Sanford. Each episode usually featured a guest appearance from an R&B singer, usually a friend of Patti LaBelle's. The funniest episode IMO was the one that Natalie Cole was on.

Why was the show funny with Natalie Cole? That was my favorite singer

In the episode, Duane Martin's character Vidal gets kicked out of the apt he shares with Morris Chestnut and Chelsea (Patti LaBelle) let's him stay at her place for awhile - There was a very funny scene in it where he's trying to get some sleep on her couch when Chelsea and her friend Natalie Cole (playing herself) come in to rehearse a song at Chelsea's piano. They are singing the Bette Midler song "From a Distance" and it starts out real mellow and hes sleeping to the music. Then Patti and Natalie start singing very loudly and screaming and clapping. It scares Vidal up off the couch but he keeps trying to sleep even though Patti and Natalie are walking closer to the couch. Patti even throws all the pillows off the couch so he can't cover his ears anymore lol I havent seen it in a few years but's its a hilarious scene. You should check it out Sol if it's ever on youtube.

LOL. I remember that episode. It aired on a Friday night on NBC. I have it on tape. I have many of the episodes on tape. My favorite is episode one when TLC guest starred and Jeff and Vidal moved to Cali and Jeff got the job as the trainee at the club.

Maybe that's why I didn't watch this show because it's aired on Friday night
