Default How That's My Mama stacks up with the other Black Sitcoms from the 70's

I watched the entire first season and let me just say that I was a little disappointed. Really didn;t enjoy watching the show at all and that was mainly because of the MAMA character. HORRIBLE> So this is how That's My mama to me is ranked with the other Black Sitcoms of the 70's

1.Jeffersons
2.Sanford and Son
3.Good times
4.What's Happening
5.Baby I'm Back
6.That's My Mama/Grady
7.Sanford Arms

I still will watch season 2 tonight but atleast I got to see what everyone else saw in the 70's.

I actually enjoyed That's My Mama, and the show was definitely a lot better than Grady (come on Solomon, that show was bland)

Thats my mama is ok. Its not the best and its not the worst. I dont know what I was expecting but it surely doesnt measure up to Sanford and Son. I watch just for nostalgia's sake.

Before the DVD, i seen 10 eps and i was like it's not too bad. Plus the way the TV Guide Critic hyped up the first season of That's My Mama, i just knew I would like it. I was wrong-lol

Are you serious on not being fond of this show? I actually enjoyed this sitcoms; though it did have a few annoying characters like Junior and Leonard, but I was actually impressed!
AND, I am as PICKY as you are when it comes to my television programs..

He was a little too much for my liking; or maybe because I only identify Ted Lange was the goofy bartender from the Love Boat...

Yeah, I agree with you on that one; that character (Earl) was too prissy and nerdy for my tastes. And he was also not remotely funny (way too dry).

Living In a '70's Dream, everytime I see your current avatar it makes me want to get that dvd. I planned on getting it then decided not to because I wasn't sure how often I'd watch it, but seeing TO & Dawn in your avatar is making me want to get it after all.

I actually created that Avatar, so I would not forget to purchase the DVD, which is out tomorrow...
