Does anyone remember this show? It looks like 2 seasons and 28 episodes. Val's only TV credit before landing a certain sitcom. Anyways, 14 years later, here's the requested information:

Yea I remember Apple's Way. Just barely, but I remember it. It's similar to The Waltons. CBS aired it in a bad time slot, on Sunday Nights during the time most TV sets were tuned in to Disney on NBC.

I saw that Valerie replied to you on Twitter. Have you had any other replies from her?

The girl in the glasses is Franny (Frannie) Michel. She was on the first season as Patricia Apple before she was replaced by Kristy McNichol when the show was "re-booted" in the second season. View this page for more information and photos.

I can't find any photos of Valerie on Apple's Way.

From Wikipedia:

Following her appearance in an episode of Apple's Way, Bertinelli was approached by producer Norman Lear to audition for the role of cooperative daughter Barbara Cooper in a new sitcom called One Day at a Time.

She was pretty lucky to be spotted on the show.

Have you ever tried tracking down the episode from a trader?

That was the only reply I got, but I mostly lurk on Twitter and don’t participate. I probably asked a few more questions, but I don’t remember what they were. I think once I tried to find out why she missed the one ODAAT episode she wasn’t in

Valerie always credited the Apple’s Way guest credit as putting her on the map on the road to getting the ODAAT audition.

For launching the Apple’s Way board, as a way of thanks, here’s an apple

Just here. I wouldn’t know where else to look. Like RetroTVNiteKatt, only interested in the one episode

‘One Day at a Time’ wasn’t Valerie Bertinelli’s only big break

While the star is most known for her breakout role in CBS’ comedy about a single mom and her two teenage daughters, Bertinelli wrote that it was another television role that paved the way for her part as Barbara Cooper in the sitcom.

“[T]toward the end of 1974, I made the leap onto episodic TV by landing a guest spot on the series Apple’s Way, a family-oriented show starring Ronnie Cox, Vince Van Patten, and Kristy McNichol. Getting that part was a monumental step forward,” she recalled.

Thanks to the show, Bertinelli’s profile as an actor rose, and eventually, celebrated television producer Norman Lear’s team “specifically asked to see me” for the series he was developing.
