I'd have to go with good old, loudmouth McEnroe. Only because I was watching a lot of tennis back then and he was always interesting to watch - you were always just waiting for him to lose his cool and freak on the officials!

That's why he's one of my favorites too, I liked that he got fired up all the time. I really don't know who to pick, I like McEnroe, Agassi, Washington and now I'm rooting for James Blake. The only sure thing is that Sampras and Courier were my least favorites.

OMG - we think so much alike - I had a tough time too - from a female point of view, liked watching Agassi

Never could warm up to Sampras - never trust a guy who can hide food in his eyebrows.....

and really, I just haven't watched much in the past few years so I really don't know the "new" guys much. And Arthur Ashe was a little before my time - I was really young and only saw the Bobby Riggs "Battle of the Sexes" match against Billie Jean King.

Ashe was before my time too. I haven't watched as much in recent years either, but it doesn't seem to be as much coverage of tennis if it's not one of the Grand Slams. I was heaviest into it in the '90s when Sampras and Boris Becker were hot. Back when Monica Seles and Martina were still playing. I guess I always get into it around this time of year because I only live a few miles from where the U.S. Open takes place.

But yeah, Sampras had some hairy ass eyebrows.

I remember the first Wimbledon Becker played when he was 17 - I watched it. He reminded me of an uglier Richie Cunningham! Back then I had a thing for Ivan Lendal. Was never really big on Connors. Seles drove me nuts with her grunts, but now it seems they ALL do it! I think Martina has to be my all time fav though - also like Chris Everett. The Williams sisters just sort of scare me - they're like machines really (if you know what I mean - so focused).

Andre Agassi is my favorite American player but my favorite player of all time is Steffi Graf. When she retired I lost interest in the sport.

That's how I felt with Martina.

Agassi just beat James Blake in a quarter finals match. Even though I was rooting for Blake and he lost, it was still a great match. Blake won the first two sets easy but started losing it a bit. It went to a fifth set tiebreak, so you can't ask for more than that. He had a chance, but came up short. Any other time I would've been rooting for Agassi but I wanted to see Blake advance. I'm sure I'll be rooting for Agassi in his next match.

I choose good old John McEnroe.

I actually used to think tennis was boring...it was only watching Wimbledon this year that I found myself eenjoying it.

Jimmy Connors. Who can forget his run at the 1991 US Open?
