Smile Hyde and Jackie vs. Kelso and Jackie

I know there are a lot of people who think Jackie was better paired off with Hyde, but I personally think the dynamic between Jackie and Kelso was a LOT better.

I think their personalities meshed well together and was a lot more believable- he was the dumb, vain type who was willing to be controlled by selfish, vain, and materialistic Jackie. He was her whipping boy and I think that in itself made it a lot more funny. They were two peas in a pod in a sense, although Kelso was definately a lot weaker than Jackie(which worked since she basically needs someone to control).

Agree or disagree? All opinions are welcome

Strongly disagree, Hyde made Jackie a better person and she did for him, they have so much in common, they both have ****ty parents they both ended up living with there best friends, and she knows him so well and so does he. Jackie isn't vain shes shown since shes been with Hyde that all she really waants is someone to love her, and he does.

Jackie/Kelso by a million miles. Their chemistry and dynamic was absolutely amazing. Kelso had no idea how to handle a girlfriend and Jackie took advantage of that. But I never doubted that they truly cared for each other. They were both completely idiotic and it made their arguments tons of fun because they matched each other dumb statement for dumb statement.

Jackie/Hyde just don't have the chemistry to me. I agree with nasman that they made each other better and I think they lost something in the comedy with that. When they started going with Jackie/Hyde in the third season, they were still too different and that made for a tremendous dynamic. When they got together, they evened each other out and it hurt. It was very Monica/Chandler-esque.

I actually think jackie/Hyde have the best chemistry on the show their always touching each other, and you should see how Milad/Danny act outside of the shes always sitting in his lap.

I do think the show became less funny after they got toggether but i don't think that was their fault cause the 5th season is hilarious to me. I think the writers tried to focus to much on Kelso in the 6th season and ended up ruining the show.

Either one is cool with me, but right now, I would say Hyde and Jackie.

Jackie and Kelso.

Not even a question.

Hyde and Jackie was the beginning of the end of the greatness of the show.
Season 5 ushers in the whole mismatched couple issue and still manages to keep most of the original tone and attitude of the show. But as we get to Season 6 we see that Jackie and Hyde are the priority and Eric and Donna's relationship is not the focal point. Hell, Eric and Donna barely even talk the whole season they are going to get married! The whole show then just turns Eric and Donna into a hazy non-relevant angle, when they were the center of the whole thing!

Why does everyone blame the dimise of the show on Jackie/Hyde.

I thought the question was who was the better couple, and that is by far Jackie & Hyde.

Because they are not the better couple.
If you are talking about like a real life couple, who cares, it's a sitcom.

As far as for TSS, the better couple is the one that is funnier together, that makes the show work better, not one that sets up boring storylines that aren't even close to as humorous as anything with Jackie and Kelso.

Hyde and Jackie is a dumb dramatic departure whose comedic potential of 'opposites attract' peaked in the first season they were together. Now it is just annoying. And very repetitive. Not to mention the drama all the time now.

They are not as funny together as Jackie and Kelso and they don't inspire any great comic situations. At least Jackie and Kelso, both being so vain and naive, always lent itself to a new blowup

I see what your sayig, but i really don't think that was Jackie/Hyde's fault, cause in the 6th season they rarely focused on Jackie/Hyde and it still sucked cause they focused on Kelso's dumb storylines. And by the 4th season Jackie/Kelso were not funny anymore just annoying.

I agree about the focus on Kelso- the whole baby storyline was ridiculous.

But I thought there was some good Jackie/Kelso stuff in the fourth season.
The winning the van, kelso selling his sperm, the cheese maiden with Jackie kissing her boss and all that happens to their relationship.

Kelso: But you cheated out of hate and I cheated out of joy.

Jackie: I didn’t cheat out of hate, Michael. I cheated because lately you’ve been acting like I don’t exist.

Kelso: Well, I sure know you exist now that you’ve frenched the whole mall!

I just think Jackie/Hyde had the pontential to be very funny but when Hyde cheated it made them to real cause that episode was to sad, so they ended up killing the innocence of the show. But really i respect what Jackie/Kelso had but i just can't see them being a couple any more they are to different, at least she is anyway.

Jackie and Kelso were a lot funnier and there personalities were good for eachother. With Jackie in Hyde yes they make eacother better people but it isn't as intreasting and they don't have alot of chemistry.
