I would probably say the bass and electic guitar. It takes skill to know how to play those. Some people are born to play those. But it really takes talent to be on the money with any type of guitar.

As far as the most growing new techinique, I don't know, probably the synthesizer.

piano is probably one of the most difficult along with flute

guitar is easy to play if you have the fingers for it..if you dont then good luck

Piano is hard, you really have to have a knack for reading music.

Clarinet is hard, as well. Ugh god, the days I spent crying in frustration. It's hard because it's a reed instrument, and when learning to play, hard to minimize the squeeking.

Reminds me of what Vinnie Paul Abbott (Dimebag's brother) said when he came home with a tuba from school. His dad said, "Son, you won't make a dime playing that thing! Take it back!"

He did and took up drums and played them in the school marching band. A few years later, he played drums with his brother on guitar in Pantera.

I play the piano, and I took me a loong time to learn how to play it. Ive heard the violin is pretty hard to play too.

I agree with you about the clarinet. For the life of me, I could not learn how to operate that thing in 4th grade band...it came to the point where I just said "Screw it!" and pretended to play when we had a concert. Thank god I never had a solo

guitar is pretty hard, you have to move your fingers fast and get the chords right and without accidently picking the wrong string.. god, i ALWAYS do that. it's kind of hard to decide which of my hands to look at. and having long nails isn't very compatible with it either, they pluck the strings around the frets when i'm moving them to change chords sometimes.

i thought piano was easy even though i never took lessons, probably because i've been playing pretty much since i was an infant. i had a toy piano with color-coded sheet music i used avidly, then moved onto a keyboard years later, and sometime this week or so i'm getting a full-sized one.

I think piano is the hardest instrument to play. I first started playing when I was seven years old and over the years I have gotten much better at playing, but I still am far from great. The only songs I can really play well on the piano are "Imagine" by John Lennon, "November Rain" by Guns N' Roses and "Gina and Elvira's Theme" from the Scarface soundtrack.

I hate the violin. A few weeks ago, I took mine out of storage and attempted to play it, then I realized I forgot how. I started to reteach myself and broke my G string (I just realized how bad that sounds?). I said **** it and put it away

I played clarinet a couple years back when music wasn't in option (grade 6-8) and I found it rather easy. Only got a coupe squeeks my first time, and after that I'd only get squeeks if I wanted to bug the teacher.

I agree. I started band class in grade six. I wanted harp (which I understand is the most difficult to learn), but since they didn't offer it I went with flute. Flute, clarinet and saxaphones keys are the same. To get the true clarity on flute can be difficult, but once you find the perfect "smile" it's fine. My girlfriend and I would trade instruments and I found the clarinet actually easier to play (without squeaks) - you just need a ton of "spit"

The trick is to soak the reed (as gross as it sounds), but if you can master that, you're flying.
I later tried the bagpipes (I was a bass drummer in a pipeband). I found the chanter part of it easy (taught myself the fingering), but its keeping that darn bag loaded with air properly. You need an incredible about of lung power. To me, the pipes are up there in the top 10 most difficult instruments.

Guitar for me, I have one and still am trying to learn. Piano is easier for me, you just have to know how to place you fingers.
