Default FLORIDA GOES TO CHURCH BUT...

She doesn't take her kids with her? Why do you think that is? When I was growing up WE ALL HAD TO GO TO CHURCH. No ifs, ands, or buts. Isn't it funny that on the Waltons, the mother and grandmother attended church faithfully but they had to drag their husbands. The father made it clear he wasn't a churchgoer. James I don't think ever mentioned or said anything abt going to church. Only Florida. Seems weird these two CBS shows had the same thing going on abt the mother only going to church, the only difference was on the Waltons, the kids were made to go but not on GT. why would Flo not take her kids????

't want them to know about.

Yeah that's true but it's hard to get teenagers to go to church. On All in the Family Edith went to church but Archie didn't. He went twice that I've seen and that's it. But Archie did say that Edith went to church enough for the both of them LOL so I guess James felt the same way.

Isn't that strange that 3 CBS shows had fathers who never went to church or were forced to go???? What, if anything, was the message that was being sent here?

Well I guess you don't have to go to church to worship God, even though it says worship in the house of the Lord. Plus James worked alot so maybe some Sundays he worked. And Archie drove the cab on the weekends. Now the Waltons I have no idea I could never get in that show. God did say that Sunday was the time for worship and rest, But at times it's hard to rest when you have to put food on the table.

I have no clue why they didn't go, They just didn't feel like it I guess.

GOOD ANSWER BRI!!!!!!! That used to be my response when I was asked why I didn't want to go to church: "I don't feel like it!"

Irene, we definitely think alike. Because when I saw this episode, I was thinking the same thing.

And I know you know what I mean Brian. Am i right or what? You know that's strange. Especially a black family. All my black friends that I grew up with went to church with the ENTIRE FAMILY!!! Grandparents, uncles, aunts, etc. Even being a hispanic family, whether mom had to drag you outta bed or whatever, the WHOLE FAMILY WENT@!!!!!
