PASS THE VEGATABLES PLEASE (compared to TV Land/Syndicate versions)

Longer scenes of the castaways planting the vegatables and watching them grow.

A very short line added where Mrs. Howell says her job is to do her share by eating the vegatables

A scene where the castaways while eating the vegatables suggest that they move the vegatables they like best closest to them.

I am sure there are others.

Default Sadly, the last 2 shows

These are the last 2 episodes I was able to record before the show went off the air here. 2 shows that weren’t cut at all (which bothers me as to why) were The Producer and Voodoo.
All the shows were done with the season 2 opening and format. That’s why “Meet the Meteor” was such a shock when I first saw it.
It hasn’t been on for ages and I wish they would bring it back on. The amount of show they’d have to cut now would be enormous. It’s so great knowing I’ve got the shows almost complete. If only “Gilligan vs. Gilligan and The Pigeon” had the proper openings.
And I discovered a few seconds on a tape that wasn’t on the DVD!! In “It’s a Bird, it’s a Plane, it’s Gilligan” as Gilligan is taking the jetpack for a ride, there’s a small section, just as he starts out, missing. He’s heading into the jungle, turns his head around and calls for the Skipper. Gilligan calling for the Skipper is on the DVD soundtrack though. Weird.

Bang! Bang! Bang!
16:29 - 18:16
The Professor and Ginger attempting to pull Gilligan’s teeth and succumbing to the anesthetic. 1:47 missing.

Gilligan The Goddess
4:20 - 5:25
Mrs. Howell joins Mr. Howell who is chatting with the natives. They call Mrs. Howell the third white goddess. Gilligan throws a fishing net over the natives.
15:01 - 15:44
King Kiliwani leads the castaways in a ceremonial chant. Gilliana receiving the leis of night, day, work, play, moon and collapsing under the weight. 1:48 missing.

Very strange, as the DVD's should be taken from the original masters. I haven't gotten to that episode yet so I will let you guys know! How many seconds are missing here?

More importantly, is this scene included on TV Land's or Hallmark's versions of the show or cut out? This would give us something else with which to compare the scene.

Good work on the cuts/restorations!

It's only a couple of seconds but worrying that it should be altered. I doubt it would be cut from the tv showings because it's important to the plot. But then again....

I can't believe it's taken me this long to get around to posting the cut portion from It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Gilligan from the DVD. It's interesting to note the speed difference even over such a small amount of footage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IakiJvPup7w

I suspected that there are little cuts here and there on some of the DVD episodes. Why would they bother to make little cuts like this? It makes no sense. How many of the 98 DVD episodes are affected in this way?

I didn't get an opportunity to record all the episodes on vhs but of all the ones I did record this one is the only one I discovered any missing footage.
I've always suspected cuts as well.

Judging by the running times of the DVD episodes, I would estimate that about 30 of the 98 episodes are edited. It's minor stuff, but why would they bother to edit anything out in the first place? It makes no sense. The I Dream Of Jeannie DVD's have the same problem.

It doesn't make any sense. I've always thought these were first generation syndicated versions and the ones shown on tv are cut versions of those. I noticed the same thing in "The Adventures of Superman" discs.
