Default Cleveland Indians Might Make Playoffs

They're fighting for a wild card spot right now. They've been playing so well lately, it looks like they might get in. I'm not a baseball fan but i'm happy to see any of my hometown teams do well. The Indians haven't been to the playoffs in so long. I know the Indians fans would be happy to see them in the playoffs.

Their hitting is great and their pitching is even better right now. The only thing that could hold them back is that they have a difficult schedule this month: two series with Minnesota (their rivals) and two series with the White Sox (best record in the AL).

I wish the Indians would've kept Kenny Lofton, Jim Thome, Omar Vizquel. Kenny & Jim play for the Phillies right now & Omar plays for Seattle. Carlos Barega who used to play for the Indians plays for Washington Nationals now. Carlos was a good player for the Indians.

The Twins desperately need to win every game they can against the Indians. But, they don't have an offense. So that might not happen.

The Twins haven't been good since they had Kirby Puckett LOL.

The Twins always heat up at the end of the season though. Having Tori Hunter on the DL all this time has been a big blow.

Yes they have. They just haven't been great like they were then.

Yeah, true. But last year, they really turned it on when they aquired Shannon Stewart (I think that was last year, maybe that was the year before). They tried that again with adding Brett Boone, but that obviously failed. Hunter is desperately needed now.

I watched the Indians & White Sox last night. That was a very good game but the Indians lost 3-2 in 13 innings. The Indians are probably gonna miss the playoffs which wouldn't surprise me. If they do miss the playoffs, at least they were very good this year because they haven't been good since the early to mid 90's.

The Indians went to the World Series in 1997, won 97 games in 1999, 90 in 2000 and 91 in 2001, so it hasn't been that long since they were "good". It has been a while since they were in the series, but hell it took them 40 years between the '95 series and the '54 one. I really hope they don't blow it like I watched the Browns do 3 times in the 1980s! I think the best thing that can happen now, is Boston sweep NY and we win the next 2. Otherwise there will probably be a tie, and possible a 3 way tie!

BTW last nights game was a heartbreaker. Nice to see them give some run support to Milwood (as usual) .

I hope the Indians get swept by the Chisox. I don't see the Yankees doing much in this series with the Red Sox and if the Indians keep losing, at least the Yankees will get the wild card.

That's very possible. The Yanks can't beat Tim Wakefield and Curt Schilling has always been a big game pitcher. Plus, David Ortiz is the most clutch player I have ever seen.

Well Wakefield is going on 3 days rest, not that a knuckleballer needs a lot of rest. Who do the Yanks got going today?

(Just checked the score, Yanks are already up 3-0) Maybe Wakefield needed more rest.
